There’s so much more to Disney World than just the theme parks.
Sure, there are a lot of great attractions to ride, shows to see, nightime spectaculars to experience, and details to catch, but did you know that you can do even MORE at Disney World RIGHT NOW?
We’re breaking down those activities and things that you can do at Disney World you might not even be thinking about. So get ready to add some brand new activities to your next Disney World trip!
VIP Tours
Okay, so this option can get a little pricey, but did you know you could explore Disney World with your very own personal tour guide? Not only that, but you get some perks with that tour, too (like skipping lines at some of Disney World’s top attractions).
You can book a tour for yourself and up to nine other guests. Then you tell the guide what you want to accomplish, what you want to learn more about, and what your priorities are. You’ll get a customized experience tailor-made just for you. And that’s not all. Disney World’s VIP Tour Services can help you plan BEFORE your trip, work with you on a flexible start time, and let you visit multiple parks in one day.
Prices for VIP tours aren’t cheap, though — they range from $425 to $850 per HOUR, and no, that doesn’t include park admission.

Fireworks Cruises
Fireworks cruises have returned to Disney World and you can now get a 25-foot chartered boat with a captain on Seven Seas Lagoon or Bay Lake to watch Magic Kingdom’s Disney Enchantment from the water!
And don’t worry — each boat also has synced audio of the show’s music, so you still get the full fireworks experience. PLUS you get snacks and soft drinks. If you’re celebrating a special occasion, you can also get festive banners and balloons (for an additional cost). Departure locations are located at the marinas at Disney’s Contemporary, Polynesian Village, Grand Floridian, Fort Wilderness, and Wilderness Lodge Resorts.
At EPCOT, you can get a chartered boat that sets sail from World Showcase Lagoon, offering a new and unique angle to watch the Harmonious nighttime show! Prices for fireworks cruises start at $399 for up to 10 guests.
See photos and videos of the new ‘Harmonious’ fireworks show at EPCOT.
Fishing Excursions
If you and your family like fishing — believe it or not — that’s something you can do at Disney World! You can go on a Fishing Excursion, which includes a guided catch-and-release outing for bass fishing. You have a choice of two excursions: one with a 21-foot pontoon boat that seats up to five guests, or a “tournament-style” bass fishing boat that only seats 1-2 guests.
Excursions last for 2-4 hours, but if the time is available, you can add on an additional hour. And if you want some solo fishing time, you can do so at a discounted rate. Each excursion includes an experienced guide, rod and reel, tackle and bait, and a selection of non-alcoholic beverages.
Locations where you can fish include Disney’s Fort Wilderness, Caribbean Beach, Contemporary, Grand Floridian, Old Key West, Polynesian Village, Wilderness Lodge, and Yacht Club Resorts.
Here are the most bizarre things you can do at Disney World!
Capture Your Moment
Did you know you can hire a Disney World photographer for a Capture Your Moment Mini Photo Session at any of the Disney World parks? Well, you can! With this program, you can reserve a personalized 20-minute photoshoot to capture any kind of special moment (engagement, baby announcement, or even a fun family memory).
Note that photos are not included with the session, although you can get access to them through Memory Maker. Or you can just choose and download the ones you love most (for an additional price).
And if 20 minutes isn’t enough time, you can book two sessions back-to-back — doing this will also give you the chance to visit at least two different photo spots in whatever park you booked for. Each session is $79, and the maximum party size is 8.
Here are the BEST ways to show cast members you appreciate them!
Eat In A Mary Poppins-Themed Restaurant
If you love all things Mary Poppins, you are going to want to make sure you book an advance dining reservation for Citricos at the Grand Floridian. The restaurant was recently re-themed to look like something straight out of Mary Poppins Returns!
There’s plenty to love here, including the floral patterns on the chairs, artwork featuring Mary Poppins, the cherry blossom chandeliers, and the winding leaves on the room separators. The chandeliers in the Wine Room even feature an upside-down version of Mary’s umbrella. And you can check out Mary’s carpet bag!
The kitchen is open so you can watch chefs work their Disney magic while you drink fun cocktails and dig into some delicious food like the Smoked Duck Breast and Guava BBQ Short Ribs.
Here’s our most recent review of Citricos.
Eat a Bacon/Banana/Peanut Butter/Nutella Sandwich
Oh, yeah, we love our food hacks. And when we got a chance to take a Peanut Butter, Chocolate-Hazelnut Spread, and Banana Sandwich from Tortuga Tavern at Magic Kingdom and give it a Bacon upgrade, we went for it! So we headed on over to Westward Ho in Frontierland and added a Candied Bacon Skewer to it.
Oh yeah, we did! The sandwich is $9.99 and the bacon (which comes with chips) is also $9.99. So there’s an ultimate food hack for you to try for $20. And if you want even MORE Disney World food hacks, click here!

Ride A Segway Through Nature
Sure, there are segway tours everywhere these days, but have you ever had a chance to ride one through nature? With the Wilderness Back Trail Adventure at The Campsites at Ford Wilderness Resort, you can do just that! The 2-hour segway tour includes stops at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, the stables of Tri-Circle-D Ranch, and Bay Lake.
While on the tour, a Cast Member guide will share fun facts and trivia via an electronic headset. And if you’ve never been on a Segway, you’ll get a 30-minute training session! The cost is $90 per person.
Note that you must wear sturdy shoes on this tour — leave the flip flops back in your hotel room!
Here’s how to take a day off during your Walt Disney World vacation.
Eat at a Buffet Again
Buffets have made a glorious return to Disney World. The first buffet to reopen was Boma at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, but The Crystal Palace at Magic Kingdom has also switched back to buffet offerings (and y’all, it is DELICIOUS).
Another buffet you can eat at again is Biergarten at EPCOT’s Germany Pavilion, along with the breakfast and dinner buffets at Cape May Cafe. So if you’re a buffet fan, you’re in luck!

Explore Tucked-Away EPCOT Museums
One reason we love EPCOT so much is that it’s quite educational and you can visit museums ALL OVER THE WORLD without ever leaving Disney World. And most guests don’t even realize these places exist, so we hope you put these on your must-do list! First, the Stave Church in Norway has a gallery full of Norse artifacts, as well as exhibits about the Norse gods. Say what? Find out where Marvel got its inspiration for its Asgardian heroes (and villains) here!
And if you’ve never had a chance to visit Shanghai Disney Resort, you can explore it in a different way at the Shanghai Disney Exhibit in China. Or learn more about Japanese culture at the Bijustu-kan Gallery in Japan. There’s also the great Race Against the Sun exhibit in Morocco.
See photos of The Race Against the Sun exhibit here!
So, yes, we’ve just added even MORE stuff for you to do at Disney World (#sorrynotsorry). But there are so many things to do that many guests don’t know about, so if you’re looking to change up your next trip, we hope this list has given you some good ideas.
