ABC Commissary at Hollywood Studios has had its ups and downs with menu changes and trying to improve. There was a small moment in time about three years ago when I thought the food was good. Now I am here trying again with dietary restrictions. The plant-based option other than a salad is a burger.
The California Burger is a seared farm-fresh plant-based burger with sriracha mustard, balsamic-glazed grilled peppers, and onions with a vegan mayonnaise ketchup blend. Of course, it also comes with lettuce and tomato served with your side of choice. For my side, I got the Arugula-Farro Salad which is made with arugula, farro, Granny Smith Apples, dried cranberries, plant-based parmesan, and pecans tossed in a dijon vinaigrette. I liked the salad more than I liked the California Burger. The burger was nothing out of this world, but I did enjoy the balsamic-glazed grilled peppers and onions; it added flavor to the burger. The meal cost $12.29, which isn’t bad for burgers and a side. I wish there were a vegan cheese on the burger to add another layer of flavor and texture. I 100% recommend the Arugula-Farro salad; it was excellent, and the blend of flavors was perfect.
I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here again while visiting Hollywood Studios, but if my family was visiting and they wanted to eat here, at least I know there is something I could order. I have yet to find a quick service that I like at Hollywood Studios; it just seems that they don’t have a variety of plant-based options. I need to try the plant-based option at Docking Bay 7 and see if that becomes my go-to.
