Today is the day we want to remind you to just keep swimmin’!
Why? Well, that’s because we’re celebrating the return of the Finding Nemo show in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. This show hasn’t happened in over two years, and we learned last year that it would be reimagined and called Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond! Today, we got to attend a media event to see the show’s debut, and we’ve got a first look for you!
Let’s head inside the Theater of the Wild!

The new show features a new script and new set pieces. In the story, the fish from Dr. P. Sherman’s office have made their way to the Marine Life Institute as seen in Finding Dory.

While we were visiting the Marine Life Institute, we learned more about sharks! Wow!
New announcements and fun facts added before the show starts!
Did you know a shark can grow to be over 6,000 pounds?! #waltdisneyworld50#animalkingdom#mediaevent pic.twitter.com/u6QAbH1M3o

Soon, though, it was time for the show to begin!

The fish who are at the Marine Life Institute proceeded to tell us the story of Nemo.

The show is performed by actors who are also puppeteers. Look — it’s Nemo and his dad, Marlin!
Between the use of the puppets and lighting, you really do get a sense of the show happening in the ocean.
It’s so much fun following Nemo’s adventures again!

Oh, look, here’s where Nemo meets Dory!
You’ll see LOTS of familiar faces in the updated show, like Bruce the shark (don’t forget, kids — fish are friends, not food).

Dude…the show wouldn’t be the same without the turtles…there’s Crush and Squirt!

If you loved certain songs from the original Finding Nemo: The Musical — don’t worry — some of those songs made it into the updated version.
One of the biggest updates to the show is the LED screen in the background — we thought it added a lot of texture to the stage and show overall! The screen helps set the scene, even in scary ones with Darla!

Note: the new show is only 25 minutes long (about half of the original show), so keep that in mind when planning your day.
Normal showtimes for performances are at 10:30AM, 11:30AM, 12:30PM, 2:30PM, 3:30PM, and 4:30PM. If you’re planning on checking it out, though, be sure to check the My Disney Experience app for updated times, as they can often change.
