Universal guests will no doubt have missed the laughter and fun from hanging out with their buddies Shrek and Donkey. The Shrek and Donkey Meet & Greet was closed June 7 to be moved to a new location. Where you might ask? Well we have the answer.
We think that the new location for the Shrek and Donkey (and sometimes Fiona) Meet & Greet will be what was once The Barney Shop in Woody Woodpecker’s Kidzone.
Team Members have moved the stone walls from the Shrek and Donkey Meet & Greet’s previous location by Monsters Café to this area instead.
The area has been somewhat abandoned since the Covid-19 Pandemic shut down The Barney Store. With the exception of last year’s Halloween Horror Nights house “The Haunting of Hill House” attraction line cutting through the empty store.
This attraction’s new location could bring a much needed boost of traffic to Woody Woodpecker’s Kidzone. This update also brings the potential to divert the summer crowds from the usually packed areas like Production Central.
This update follows the permanent closure of Shrek 4-D last January. At least we can still meet up with Donkey and Shrek! Let us know what you think of this new location in the comments below.
