Disney World closures do happen from time to time — in fact, not everything is even open at Disney World yet!
Several restaurants in EPCOT are still closed, like Monsieur Paul and Takumi-Tei, and Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique also remains closed in Magic Kingdom (but should be reopening sometime this year!). We keep up with all of the closures at Disney World to help you better plan your trips, and now, a restaurant at a popular Disney World hotel will be closing this summer!
Kona Cafe will be closed starting August 15th, 2022 for refurbishment at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. During the time the spot is closed, you will still be able to use Mobile Order to get select breakfast, lunch, and dinner offerings from Kona Island.
There is no word on how long the closure will last or what changes will be made to the restaurant, but we’ll be sure to keep an eye out and let you know as soon as more news is announced!
Right now, you can still make reservations at Kona Cafe up until August 14th, 2022.
Kona Cafe serves food like Tonga Toast and Macadamia Nut Pancakes for breakfast, and sushi, poke bowls, burgers, stir-fry, and dashi bowls for lunch and dinner.
While Kona Cafe is closed, remember that there are several other spots that you can dine at in Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort like ‘Ohana, Capt. Cook’s, Kona Island, Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto, and more. Or, head on over to the nearby Grand Floridian Resort or Contemporary Resort to grab some grub!
