The Fuzzy Tauntaun Drink Has Gone MISSING from Disney World

The day has arrived. 😼

Oga’s Cantina

We’ve seen all kinds of menu changes impact a variety of restaurants in Disney World. From menu items being entirely removed, to price increases, and new items being added — it’s a big time for change in Disney World when it comes to food. Now, a super popular drink from Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge that we had been keeping a very close eye on for a while has DISAPPEARED. Here’s what we know so far.

Back in May, we shared that some changes may soon impact the iconic Fuzzy Tauntaun drink from Oga’s Cantina in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. This drink is typically one you’d find at Oga’s Cantina in both Disney World and Disneyland.

The Fuzzy Tauntaun

If you’re not familiar with it, this drink is made with Cüroc Peach Vodka, Bols Peach Schnapps, Simply¼ Orange with Tangerine, Pure Cane Sugar, and “Buzz Button Tingling” Foam. The drink is well known and loved by many fans particularly because the Buzz Button foam makes your mouth go numb when drinking it!

Fuzzy Tauntaun

How is it able to do this? Well there is an ingredient mixed into the foam that is a natural painkiller. It comes from a Szechuan flower known as “Buzz Buttons.” The numbing sensation you’ll feel is very entertaining and unique, but it does wear off pretty quickly (so don’t worry about having a numb mouth while flying the Millennium Falcon!).

Buzz Buttons

Again, the drink’s effect (and great peach flavor) attracts many to it, but now you may not be able to get it!

What Happened Before

Back in May, the drink was REMOVED from the menu at Oga’s Cantina in Disneyland. A Cast Member told us there had been some “embargo” issues impacting their ability to get things from other planets. That sounded like it could potentially be a supply chain issue (though that wasn’t explicitly confirmed).

Over at Disney World, the drink was still available in May, but a Cast Member did say that they were planning on changing the foam that is used in the drink. A Cast Member later told us that the flower used for the drink’s unique effect was going “extinct,” but that Disney was working quickly to find something to replace it and were testing formulas behind the scenes. At that time, the Cast Member said that their #1 goal was to keep the drink on the menu.

Fuzzy Tauntaun

Now, things have CHANGED.

What’s Happening Now!

On June 30th, 2022, we went back to Oga’s Cantina in Disney World and asked about the Fuzzy Tauntaun. A Cast Member there told us that the drink was NO longer available! Two more Cast Members also confirmed this, as well as a leader at the location.

The Cast Members we spoke to said that they were not sure if it would be coming back, but that it “might.”

Fuzzy Tauntaun

Interestingly, the drink is still listed on the menu for Oga’s Cantina online for Disney World, but, again, according to the Cast Members we spoke to, it is not available. The drink is still removed from the Disneyland menu for Oga’s Cantina.

Of course, keep in mind that this is just what we heard from the Cast Members we spoke to. Things are, of course, subject to change. Be sure to check and see what the situation is like during your visit.

If there are in fact supply chain issues or other problems Disney is experiencing with some of the ingredients used for the drink, particularly the reported “extinction” of the flower used for the numbing effect, it could be a while before we see this drink back on the menu (if in fact it’s able to return at all).

We will continue to keep a close eye on all of the updates with this situation and we’ll let you know what we find. In the meantime, if you’re heading to Oga’s Cantina and looking for an alternative drink to pick, you could try some of the more underrated drinks at this place or go for something like the Jet Juice or the Jedi Mind Trick, which have been favorites of ours in the past!

New Orange Bird Annual Passholder Magnet Coming to Disney Springs on July 5

Walt Disney World Annual Passholders will soon be able to pick up a new complimentary Orange Bird magnet from Disney Springs.

Disney revealed the magnet in The Passholder Buzz section of the My Disney Experience app. Orange Bird is flying within a blue “D.” “Walt Disney World” is to the left in white letters and “annual passholder” is in black along the bottom.

The magnet will be available from July 5 through August 5, 2022, while supplies last. Passholders can pick it up from Disney’s Wonderful World of Memories at Disney Springs from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

A virtual queue to pick up the magnet will open at 9:30 a.m. each day. Guests can join it through the My Disney Experience app when they are within 45 miles of Disney Springs. After joining, they will get their estimated wait time, which may be as low as 30 minutes. The virtual queue may also reopen throughout the day. Once Passholders receive the notification that they can pick up their magnet, they will have an hour to visit Wonderful World of Memories.

The Annual Passholder must be present to pick up the magnet and show a photo ID with their Annual Pass card, MagicBand, or MagicMobile card.

New Kanan Jarrus, Plo Koon, and Ahsoka Tano Legacy Lightsaber Hilts Coming Soon to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

Three new legacy lightsaber hilt sets are coming soon to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort.

Disney already revealed Plo Koon’s lightsaber hilt set at Star Wars Celebration last month. We now know the hilt will be available at Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities in both parks beginning July 8, 2022.

Fans were invited to vote on the next legacy lightsaber hilt. The winner has been revealed to be the lightsaber of Padawan Caleb Dume (Kanan Jarrus).

Kanan, once called Caleb Dume, was a main character in “Star Wars Rebels.” He kept his lightsaber hidden in plain sight in pieces on his belt. He also briefly appeared with this lightsaber as a padawan in “Star Wars: The Bad Batch.”

Disney did not announce when this hilt would be available.

Lastly, another set of legacy lightsaber hilts inspired by Ahsoka Tano will soon be available. These curved hilts are modeled after the sabers she uses in “Star Wars Rebels.” The limited edition set comes in a display case that plays Ahsoka’s theme when opened and includes a numbered plaque. There will only be 6,000 of this set worldwide. A limited quantity will be available at Dok-Ondar’s in Walt Disney World beginning June 1, 2022 until supplies last.

Adventures by Disney Raises Minimum Age Requirement

Effective immediately, Adventures by Disney has raised their minimum age requirement for most adventures from four-years-old to five-years-old.

Adventures by Disney logo

This applies to Land Adventures (excluding Pirate Adventures), Escapes, and River Cruises. The updated age requirement will apply to all new bookings from June 30, 2022 forward.

Travel parties with a four-year-old guest who already have confirmed reservations for 2022 and 2023 departures will still be allowed to travel.

Some Adventures by Disney experiences have unique age requirements, and some are for adults only. The now sold-out $110,000 private jet trip to all Disney Parks had a minimum age requirement of 14, for example.

Adventures by Disney guests must provide proof of being fully vaccinated. With recent CDC guidelines, this now includes four-year-olds traveling under existing reservations. Disney Vacation Club Cast will be contacting travel parties with four-year-old guests to relay this information.
