Painting Begins on Faux Rocks at Journey of Water Inspired by ‘Moana’ in EPCOT

It’s been a few weeks since we checked in on Journey of Water Inspired by “Moana” in EPCOT, and the faux rocks of the walkthrough attraction are coming along nicely.

Crews have mostly been constructing the rocks in this area, around the concrete structures.

Smaller rock structures have been shaped around support poles.

While most of the rocks are just their mesh base right now, some of the rocks on the longest structure are starting to look more realistic.

Some of the rocks sticking out from under scaffolding are now a solid grey.

Several more support poles stick out of the ground throughout the construction site.

A yellow crane vehicle is parked at the center of the construction site.

The concrete structure in front of it has some new steel pieces around it, likely placed using the crane.

More steel is on the ground next to the vehicle.

A network of pipes leads out from this structure, into the ground.

Excavators sit at the edge of this trench.

Crews have added more elements to the structure in the ground, including concrete bases to the side.

The original structure in the background has been painted a darker grey.
