Hey there, hi there, ho there! We headed down to the Disneyland Resort to have some lunch, check out some pins and do a little shopping. So come along with us for this most recent photo report from both parks.
Disneyland
Summer temperatures are here and that heat is slowly creeping up day to day. It certainly is starting to get proper hot in the middle of the day each day, so we got an early start.
The newest edition of the Mickey Mouse: The Main Attraction collection is themed to “it’s a small world” and we found several items from the collection in the Emporium today.
Today was a big pin day, literally. Of the 11 pins that were released today, one of them was almost as large as a dinner plate, as seen below. You can check out all the pins we found right here.
For any fans of Disney nuiMOs, there is a new collection of Pride apparel and a new Marie nuiMOs plush available now.
Let’s head into the park.
The site of the former Tarzan’s Treehouse has been under refurbishment and retheming for several weeks now and the tree that was previously the entrance to the walkthrough has been removed.
We stopped in for lunch at Blue Bayou to see what it’s like to dine there without the view. The food was still fantastic and the service was perfect, but it is missing some of its charm without the boats floating by.
You can see our full experience in our video review on our YouTube channel, or by clicking the video below:
Upon exiting Blue Bayou, the Captain himself was over at Lafitte’s Tavern on Tom Sawyer Island waving and entertaining guests back on the shore.
Off on the far, far away world of Batuu, we stopped in to the Marketplace to check out some new finds.
At the Creature Stall, we found this new journal full of some of the fantastic beasts and where … nevermind, wrong park. The notebook features the creatures of the Star Wars galaxy, including Tauntauns, Banthas, Kowakian Monkey-Lizards and more.
Over in Dok Ondar’s Den of Antiquities, we found a collection of new metal wall signs from groups including the Jedi, the Shadow Collective, and even Dok Ondar himself. Take a look at all the signs we found, and some new sculptural busts, right here.
Back on Earth, we found some more Star Tours apparel to celebrate the 35th anniversary. This jacket is shiny and silky, and super cool.
We also found a new Loungefly sling bag showcasing a vintage collection of Star Wars action figures.
Not Star Wars related but still found in The Star Trader, this new Doctor Strange Loungefly mini backpack is a very detailed look at his costume.
After all this shopping, we had to stop in for another lunch, this time at The Harbour Galley. We tried a few of the new items on the menu and we were a little disappointed.
You can see our full reaction to the dishes in our video review on our YouTube channel, or by clicking the video below:
Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel
We stopped over to Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel to check in on the construction that has been started to retheme the hotel to Pixar art.
Scaffolding has been raised on the façade of the hotel and work will begin to change some of the thematic elements and decorations.
In addition to the theme changes, a new entrance to Disney California Adventure is set to open for the guests of Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel. This directional sign will lead guests into a back entrance to the park.
Disney California Adventure
Speaking of which, let’s head into the park.
Two new posters for the Disney+ Marvel shows have been added to the front of the Super Store featuring Avengers Campus.
Inside the store, we found a new iteration of the Team WEB Tech jacket that debuted at the opening of the land, this time in blue. We also found a cool new Spidey shirt, and you can see them both right here.
We also found some new Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout apparel in the store. Take a look at everything we found right here.
Black Widow was out on patrol to make sure no bad guys decided to stir up trouble.
Over on Pixar Pier, we caught some World of Color water fountains testing during the daylight hours.
And we ran across a new shiny popcorn bucket here at the best popcorn cart in DCA.
Seaside Souvenirs is still down for refurbishment.
After all this walking, it was time for another lunch, this time at Award Wieners. We opted for a couple new items from their seasonal menu. You can take a look at our full reaction in the video review on our YouTube channel, or by clicking on the video below:
One final parting shot from Hollywood Land, peeking over the wall at Avengers Campus as the sun begins to sink in the sky. The golden hour light bouncing off the golden furnishings on The Collector’s fortress make for a beautiful final look at the park.
