Would you believe us if we told you we could show you a tour of one of Disney’s most popular Resort hotels without you ever having to leave your couch?
Not to mention, it won’t cost you a thing! Disney’s Contemporary Resort is a deluxe hotel that is within literal walking distance of Magic Kingdom. With perks like that, you can believe it’s just a bit on the pricier side. From new restaurants to old favorites and updated rooms, the Contemporary is loved by many Disney guests. And now, we’re taking you on a full room tour!
First things first, let’s talk about the architecture of the Contemporary. You might notice upon first glance that there’s actually a giant hole in the middle of the original building. That’s because the Walt Disney World Monorail actually goes through the hotel and stops inside!
The Contemporary recently underwent renovations to several areas of the hotel, including updates to the lobby and a brand new restaurant, Steakhouse 71.
One of the most iconic aspects of the Contemporary is the large atrium that houses the monorail station, gift shops, and several dining locations. Check out the character breakfast at Chef Mickey’s for a delicious start to your day! You’ll also find Contempo Cafe, Outer Rim, and of course — California Grill at the Contemporary too.
Okay, now onto the main event: the room tour! On this visit, we stayed in a Main Tower Theme Park View Room, which sleeps up to 5 adults and either includes 1 king bed and 1 day bed or 2 queen beds and 1 day bed. Here’s what you seen when you open the door…
The main light switches are to your right as you walk in just before the entrance to the bathroom, and on your left you’ll find the closet.
It may not look like much, but the inside is pretty spacious!
There’s a small set of drawers, luggage rack, and extra hangers…
…an extra pillow and blanket…
…a hairdryer…
…and a handheld steamer!
There’s plenty of room in this set of drawers…
…and you can place all of your valuables in this programmable safe too.
Across from the closet, you’ll find the spacious bathroom.
There’s a large mirror (with a pretty cool monorail design on it) above the vanity…
…which has double sinks!
You’ll also find H2O bath products on top of the counter…
…and plenty of extra storage space below!
This bathroom includes a shower/tub combo.
The bath can come in handy if you’ve got little ones or just need to relax.
And the double shower heads are a nice touch!
You’ll find more H2O bath products on the wall, as well.
Of course, no bathroom is complete without a toilet…
…and there’s some adorable Incredibles art in here too, beside the towels.
Moving back out into the main room, next to the closet you’ll find a little kitchenette area and shelf.
This area includes an ice bucket…
…a coffee maker…
…coffee and tea supplies…
…and a miniature refrigerator!
The room we got was pretty spacious!
It had 2 queen beds…
…with a nightstand in between.
You might even spot some secret spy gear in the drawer…
Next to each bed is a fancy little lamp that pulls out from the wall.
There’s also additional space under the beds for storing suitcases if you need it!
Across from the beds, you’ll find the main living area and television.
The couch pulls out into an extra bed.
Next to the couch, you’ll find an end table with some hidden seating space.
And there’s a waste bin as well.
We opted for the Theme Park View Room, so now it’s time to see what that looks like!
Once you make your way over to the balcony…
…you’ll notice a table and chairs…
…and a pretty great view of Seven Seas Lagoon, too!
That’s our FULL look at a Main Tower Theme Park View Room at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. If this hotel isn’t your style, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort might be another Magic Kingdom Resort on your list that suits your fancy (literally!). We did a room tour of the Grand Flo earlier this year!

For a slightly less expensive hotel option, moderate resorts like Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside and French Quarter and Disney’s Coronado Springs Resorts can be top notch. Don’t forget that all Disney Resort hotel guests can take advantage of Early Park Admission to all four theme parks, but only Deluxe Resort hotel guests receive Extended Evening Hours.
