The Bacon of Doom and Temple of Bacon have both returned to Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar at Disney Springs.
Bacon of Doom – $32
Thick-cut Applewood-smoked Bacon dipped in Ganachery Milk Chocolate and Chipotle Ganache served with a shareable smoked cocktail Jock’s Old Fashioned. Featuring Disney Select Barrel Knob Creek, Cointreau Liqueur, Simple Syrup, and Bitters garnished with an Orange Wedge and Cherry
The Bacon of Doom is presented on a glass-ensconced wooden tray, shrouded by smoke and mystery.
In addition to milk chocolate from The Ganachery, the thick applewood bacon is coated in bacon bits and a chipotle ganache. It’s delicious, but we think it would be better with dark chocolate.
The whiskey cocktail pairs perfectly with the bacon. It leaves the strong smokey flavor to the bacon in favor of a smooth spice.
We highly recommend this. The bacon is delicious and the cocktail is delightful. The price point is high but saves you in the long run if you’re sharing.
Temple of Bacon – $13
Thick–cut Applewood-smoked Bacon dipped in Ganachery Milk Chocolate and Chipotle
The Temple of Bacon is cheaper and smaller — and doesn’t include a cocktail — but it has a similar presentation as the Bacon of Doom.
The smokey flavor mixes really well with the rich milk chocolate, but we still think they should’ve used dark chocolate.
This is also great and we love that they used chocolate from The Ganachery. It adds a nice level of synergy and we can always rely on quality chocolate from The Ganachery.
