Is it just us, or does it seem like Disney World is bursting at the seams with new treats? (We’re definitely not complaining, by the way.)
This month is sure to satisfy foodies with the new summer foods, Pride Month offerings, and the constant 50th Anniversary menu additions. And speaking of the 50th Anniversary, we noticed that the Cheshire Café in Magic Kingdom has a new celebratory drink! Of course, we gave it a try, and it brought us back to our childhood…but not in the way you’d think.
During our visit to Magic Kingdom today, we noticed that the Cheshire Café added the Hare March Foolish Tea for $5.99. This drink is a Hibiscus Tea with whipped cream, topped with a Hare March Chocolate Coin. And spoiler alert…the drink reminded us of a major flavor from our childhood — cough syrup.
Have you tried this NEW item at Cheshire Cafe?
The Hare March Foolish Tea is wild berry hibiscus black tea slushy with whipped cream and a white chocolate medallion. It was a little too sweet for us and probably wouldn’t buy a second time! pic.twitter.com/DimDwcjIx5

For starters, the drink is super sweet. And the flavoring kinda reminded us of cough syrup. It’s not a super off-putting taste by any means, but it didn’t taste like the classic Hibiscus flavor we expected. It reminded us more of the flavor you taste when you’re trying to mask medicine — hence the flashback to cough medicine we were met with.
Moving on, the White Chocolate Coin featured a picture of the March Hare from Alice in Wonderland. Honestly, the sweetness from the drink had us feeling just about as mad as he is. But the Coin was nice, and was the same taste we usually get when they’re added to treats.
Overall, this definitely isn’t one of our favorites. We do think the drink tasted much better when we mixed the whipped cream in, as it cut the intensity of the syrup. But still…it wasn’t what we were hoping for.
If you like super sweet, syrupy drinks, then the Foolish Tea may be a good option for you! But if you’re hoping to get a not-as-sweet option in Magic Kingdom, we definitely recommend grabbing LeFou’s Brew from Gaston’s Tavern instead! It’s a blend of (no sugar added) apple juice, and a slight hint of marshmallow, topped with an all-natural passion fruit-mango foam for $6.29!
So head over to Cheshire Café if the Hare March Foolish Tea sounds good to you! Or…try something like LeFou’s Brew over in Gaston’s Tavern if the sweetness from the Foolish Tea isn’t appealing.
