Some Disney World restaurants have a totally different vibe depending on the time of year.

Hollywood & Vine in Disney’s Hollywood Studios features seasonal dining opportunities with new themes and costumes for the characters, with special holiday themes and characters appearing throughout your meal. Since it reopened after Disney World’s 2020 closure, we’ve been LOVING this restaurant, which currently features a prix fixe menu versus their previous buffet selection. We’ve visited for Minnie’s Halloween Dine, Minnie’s Holiday Dine, and even the Disney Junior Play ‘n Dine breakfast, and now we’re taking you along with us to give Minnie’s Springtime Dine a try!

Atmosphere

The last time we found ourselves at Hollywood & Vine was to try Minnie’s Halloween Dine, which once again impressed us with the food versus the previous buffet selections. So this time we made our way down Hollywood Boulevard to check out Minnie’s Springtime Dine! You’ll find this restaurant near Echo Lake.

Minnie’s Springtime Dine is one of the seasonal themes featured at the restaurant from March 1st to May 31st, 2022, and it was served for lunch and dinner. If you missed it this year, don’t worry! It should return in 2023 — just keep reading DFB for all your Disney dining news in case anything changes.

As with all the special themes, a special springtime photo backdrop was present near the front of the restaurant. We love the touch of the flowers in the planters. So springy!

The restaurant features a variety of tables, with some tables combining booth and chair seating. During our last visit, there were plexiglass dividers separating some tables. These dividers have since been removed.

We were brought to our table, which had both booth and chair seating, and can be good for large groups and bouncy kiddos.

The menu was served via QR code! All you have to do is scan the code with your phone to see the menu.

Let’s check out the character costumes!

Characters

For Minnie’s Springtime Dine, the characters are decked out in their springtime best, with Minnie in a colorful floral dress and a bow on one ear.

Goofy wore a suit with striped pants and an orange blazer.

Pluto wore his adorable purple plaid collar.

And Mickey looked so handsome in his blue and red ensemble! The characters can now visit diners at each table, and hugs, photos, and autographs are allowed.

After our meal, we received a postcard with signatures from all the characters at our meal on one side…

…and pictures of them on the back! This is a fun souvenir to take home from your meal. We’ve seen these at character meals since the parks reopened (including our last visit here) and it’s a fun takeaway.

Menu

We visited for lunch, which was $55 per adult and $36 per child ages three to nine. It’s the same price for dinner, and the price for adults includes salad, one entree, and one dessert. The two salads are served family style, with your choices being the Chopped Salad Bowl or the Plant-based Chopped Salad.

There are six adult entrees to choose from, with choices of meat and seafood dishes as well as a plant-based option. The menu has not changed since our last visit when we tried the Garlic and Cracked Black Pepper Sliced Beef Tenderloin.

Desserts include White Chocolate Cheesecake, Chocolate S’mores Pie, Spiced Cherry Cake, Lemon Cake with Fresh Strawberries, and Vanilla Creme Brulee.

Kids get an appetizer, an entree, two sides, and a dessert. Entrees include Seared Salmon, Roasted Turkey, Roasted Beef, and Macaroni and Cheese.

For dessert, kids can get Fresh Fruit, No Sugar Added Lemon Sorbet, Ice Cream Sundae, and Apple Pie.

Regular drinks like coffee, tea, and sodas are included in the price, but you can opt to buy a specialty beverage if you want something else. There are four featured beverages ranging in price from $10 to $17…

…as well as a selection of cocktails from $13 to $16. Guests can also purchase white wine…

…red wine, and beers.

Eats

We were first served a basket of dinner rolls with butter and the Chopped Salad Bowl, which is all-you-can-eat.

The dinner rolls were nothing noteworthy, but they weren’t bad. Just your typical rolls. Gotta love how much butter you get with them!

The Chopped Salad Bowl was really fresh and crunchy, and it was served with a BOMB ranch dressing that’s made in-house. The cornbread croutons tasted great with a slight sweetness, but they were a little soggy.

For our entree, we ordered the Spice-rubbed Pork Loin, which was made with creamy soft cheese polenta, spicy mustard-barbecue sauce, and bacon-peach chutney.

This was DELISH. It had a little heat from the sauce and the pork rub and the pork was cooked perfectly — nice and tender. There was a hint of sweetness from the chutney and the polenta was incredibly cheesy and creamy.

It might be a little too spicy for some people, but we’d happily order this entree again! If you’re a fan of pork and spicy foods, this might be worth a try.

For dessert, we ordered the Lemon Cake with Fresh Strawberries, which comes with lemon bunt cake, strawberries, fresh whipped cream, and mint.

This dessert was really good! It was nice and simple with delicious, clean flavors — and we loved the housemade whipped cream. The mint was a little superfluous but it was fine.

If this dessert wasn’t included in the meal, we probably wouldn’t recommend going out of your way to try it, but it was tasty and hit the spot. We usually recommend skipping dessert at table service restaurants in Disney World — there are plenty of amazing treats at the smaller locations!

Nosh or Not

Stop by Minnie’s Springtime Dine at Hollywood & Vine if:

• You’re looking for a character meal that serves delicious food. Hollywood & Vine is the only character dining option in Hollywood Studios, so it can make for a unique experience in the park. And with characters now allowed to visit tables and get photos with everyone, character dining has a different value for those who love hugging characters.
• You love seeing characters in specially-themed costumes. There are five seasonal dining opportunities throughout the year and if you like to see characters in costumes other than what you typically see at character meet-and-greets, it can be a great way to get that accomplished.
• You prefer pre-fixe meals over buffet meals. Although Hollywood & Vine used to be a buffet restaurant, they have since shifted to pre-fixe dining. You don’t get that unlimited food anymore, but you do get better quality food, in our experience.

Skip Minnie’s Springtime Dine at Hollywood & Vine if:

• You miss the old buffet and don’t want to pay prix fixe prices. With the prix fixe menu, you’re spending over $100 for two adults, which can add up fast if you have a large party. Plus, there are no side options or appetizers for adults, other than the salads.
• You don’t want to spend time in a restaurant on a busy Hollywood Studios day. Hollywood Studios is typically one of the most crowded Disney Parks, with several popular rides that can have wait times over two hours long. If you don’t want to buy Genie+ and you need to prioritize your time in the park in ride lines, you might want to skip this spot.
• You’re visiting during a seasonal time that doesn’t appeal to you. The five seasonal themes include a tribute to the Silver Screen, the Springtime Dine, the Summertime Dine, the Halloween Dine, and the Holiday Dine. If you don’t care about a certain theme or want to see a specific one that’s not available during your visit, you probably want to wait and plan a future visit.

Overall

Once again, we’re impressed with the quality of food and the overall experience at Hollywood & Vine. In our experience, the plated food has been a welcome change from the previous buffet selections, and with character dining back to “normal,” it was fun to be able to hug the characters as they visited our table. Our server was fabulous and made excellent recommendations, and she was very attentive and helpful.

We love seeing characters in different outfits and the Springtime Dine costumes were so CUTE! As the only character dining location in Hollywood Studios, Hollywood & Vine can be an excellent spot to take a break, especially for families with young kids. However, this is not exactly cheap dining. At $55 per adult, you could end up with a pricey bill, especially if you order specialty beverages.

If you’re on a strict budget, don’t care about characters, or prefer to snack and spend more time on rides, you probably want to skip Hollywood & Vine regardless of the time of year. Consider your needs and interests and don’t forget that you can begin making dining reservations 60 days prior to your visit! It can sometimes be difficult to snag a Hollywood & Vine reservation, so mark your calendar and set your alarm.
