The Disney World Restaurants With the Best Kids Menus

We talk a lot about the normal menus in Disney World, but what about the KIDS menus?

Kids Meal in Animal Kingdom

If you’re heading to Disney World with little ones, you’re gonna want to know where to get the food that kids are going to LOVE. (Most kids aren’t crazy about trying all the unique international food booths around EPCOT’s World Showcase — sorry.) So we checked out which Disney World restaurants have the best kids meals — for both kids AND adults.

Why would we include adults in there too? Because you can often order off the kids menu at Disney World restaurants, which is a great idea if you’re not super hungry or want to save some cash. A lot of these meals are really filling, even with the smaller kids portions.

Kids’ Meal in Toy Story Land

We’re going to look at both quick-service (fast food-style) restaurants and table-service (sit-down) restaurants in our search for the best kids meals in Disney World.

Friar’s Nook

Remember that adults are technically not supposed to order off of kids menus, but often Cast Members will let you do it if you ask. It’s really a case-by-case basis, and it depends on the restaurant and Cast Members working there. Sometimes a restaurant will give you a larger portion and correspondingly charge more for it if you’re an adult ordering off the kids menu. Just ask the staff or your server if you can order a kids meal for yourself, and please remember to be respectful and polite, even if they tell you no!

’50s Prime Time Cafe

In our experience, though, most Cast Members are fine with adults getting kids meals, even at table-service restaurants. The exception is if the menu is prix fixe, meaning that you pay one price and then get a few courses from a special menu. Some restaurants that are operating like this in Disney World right now are Space 220, California Grill, and Be Our Guest.

Space 220 is SO COOL

At these restaurants, adults and kids have different fixed prices. If you’re 10 years old or older, you have to pay the adult price and order from the adult menu.

The Grand Ballroom at Be Our Guest Restaurant

It’s even more common that a restaurant will let you order off the kids menu no matter your age at quick-service restaurants. Plus, a lot of these restaurants have Mobile Order, which makes it even easier to get a kids meal.

Plan your mobile order early!

Let’s jump into the restaurants and menus now!

Quick-Service (Fast Food) Restaurants

Satu’li Canteen in Disney’s Animal Kingdom

One of our absolute favorite spots to eat in Disney’s Animal Kingdom is Satu’li Canteen. This restaurant is located in the Pandora section of the park.

Satu’li Canteen

It’s serving up delicious, customizable bowls of different kinds of meat, veggies, grains, and sauces. Depending on what meat you get, the bowls range in price from $12.99 to $17.49.

Satu’li Canteen Combination Bowl

The adult-sized bowls are pretty darn big, so it’s a good option if you’re really hungry. If you’d be happy with a smaller portion, though, the kids’ menu has the same custom bowls in a smaller size for about half the price. The kids bowls are $8.49 – $9.49.

Grilled Chicken Bowl

But our favorite kids meal to get here is actually the Cheeseburger Steamed Pod, which is a bao bun stuffed with ground beef, ketchup, mustard, pickle, and cheddar. It comes with vegetable chips and a mandarin orange, plus a drink. The whole meal is $8.49.

Cheeseburger Pods at Satu’li Canteen

The adult version of this meal comes with two of the Cheeseburger Pods (for $12.79), but we’re usually plenty full after one (especially since it comes with two sides).

Nomad Lounge in Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Also in Animal Kingdom, you’ll find Nomad Lounge. This is an awesome spot for adults, with a long list of specialty cocktails and some options for small plates. But the menu can also be good for kids!

We love Nomad Lounge!

On the kids menu, one of our favorite items is the Shredded Beef Tacos. This meal comes with two beef tacos, plus kids get to choose two sides from this list: green beans, basmati rice, seasonal vegetables, white cheddar mac ‘n’ cheese, fresh fruit, or a cookies and cream brownie.

Dining at Nomad Lounge

Altogether, the kids meal is $14. That’s about the same price as most of the small plates on the menu, and we think the kids’ meal has at least as much food as those dishes.

Woody’s Lunch Box in Disney’s Hollywood Studios

We’re heading to Disney’s Hollywood Studios next, where we’re planning to stop at Woody’s Lunch Box. This is a great place to grab lunch, but be aware that it can be hard to find a table since it’s also super popular.

Woody’s Lunchbox in Toy Story Land

First of all, we have to mention the breakfast at Woody’s. You can get a Kids Breakfast Bowl — which is tater tots smothered in smoked brisket country gravy, scrambled eggs, and some green onions — for $5.49. The meal also comes with a mandarin orange, tater tots, and a drink.

Kids’ Breakfast Bowl

This is one of the BEST breakfast deals we’ve found on property. So when you’re heading into Hollywood Studios and everyone’s rushing to Slinky Dog Dash, follow the crowd until you get to the ride, then veer off and go to Woody’s Lunch Box instead for a delicious and very affordable breakfast.

Breakfast Bowl

But if you’re stopping here for lunch instead, there’s some great kids meals on the menu in the afternoon as well. One of our all-time favorites is the Grilled Cheese, and we ask for a side of Tomato Basil Soup instead of Potato Barrels (tater tots).

Grilled Cheese and Tomato Basil Soup

The Grilled Cheese is a half-sandwich with melted provolone, cheddar, and American cheese on grilled sourdough bread. It comes with a side (like we said, we love the soup — especially for dipping) and your choice of drink as well. You can get the full meal for $6.79.

Docking Bay 7 in Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Over in Galaxy’s Edge, you can find Docking Bay 7. This restaurant has food from a galaxy far, far away, and it’s pretty much normal food just with strange names and sometimes weird shapes.

Docking Bay 7

You can get “Tip Yip” (fried chicken) on the adult menu for $15.49, or you can get a slightly smaller portion on the kids’ menu for $9.99.

That’s…different!

The kids’ meal comes with a piece of fried chicken, house-made macaroni and cheese, roasted vegetables, and a drink. In our opinion, this meal is plenty filling, so why not save some money on your lunch?

Tip Yip at Docking Bay 7

We’re going to transition now to the sit-down restaurants, and we want to just remind you that not all of these places will always let you order off the kids’ menu if you’re an adult. Officially, the kids menu is for children ages 9 and younger. Although the servers will often be fine with it, please remember that it’s not always possible.

Table Service (Sit-Down) Restaurants

The Boathouse at Disney Springs

The Boathouse is a restaurant in Disney Springs, which is the big center for shopping and some dining in Disney World.

The BOATHOUSE!

There are lots of tasty options on the regular menu, but our experience with the kids menu has been just as good. The kids meals are fairly basic — there’s popcorn shrimp, a burger, mac ‘n’ cheese, or a fried chicken sandwich. But kids love these meals since they’re familiar and tasty. PLUS it doesn’t hurt that the meals come in little paper “cars.”

We would like a boat seat, please!

Even though the food doesn’t sound too exciting, it’s really good quality. And all the meals come with a choice of a side (carrot sticks, fruit cup, or fries) and a drink. Altogether, each kids meal is $10. Most adult entrées are between $20 (sandwiches) and $50 (steak) here, so if you’d be happy with a more basic meal, you could definitely save some money.

Red Grouper on Adult Menu

Would we recommend getting a kids meal here if you are pretty hungry though? Probably not. Some of the regular menu items are really delicious and unique, so this is a better menu for actual kids who aren’t interested in the adult meals. But it’s good to know that there will be good options for your little ones (or picky eaters) if you decide to eat here.

Grand Floridian Café at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort

The Grand Floridian Café is located at — you guessed it! — Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort.

Grand Floridian Cafe

Adults can get dishes like Miso-glazed Salmon ($28), Buttermilk Fried Chicken ($25), or a New York Strip Steak ($36). But you’d be surprised by how similar the kids’ menu is.

Grand Floridian Cafe Fried Chicken

Off the kids menu, you can get Miso-glazed Salmon ($13), a Grilled Chicken Breast ($12), or a Grilled Flat-Iron Steak ($15). And the kids’ meals come with two sides and a beverage as well. The portions for these entrees are definitely smaller, but the addition of the sides make them a good-sized meal anyways.

Miso-Glazed Salmon

The side options for kids are Sautéed Green Beans, Sticky Rice, Fruit Salad, or Worms in Dirt. The Sticky Rice is a favorite with some of the kids we know who’ve eaten here.

So if you’re looking for a high-quality meal without the big portion size, you’ll want to head down to Grand Floridian Café and take a look at the kids’ menu there.

Olivia’s Café at Disney’s Old Key West Resort

Olivia’s Café can be found at Disney’s Old Key West Resort.

Olivia’s Cafe

This café serves a few different kids meals for $10 each. One of our favorites is the Buttermilk-Fried Chicken Strips. The meal also comes with a beverage and your choice of two sides: green beans, brown rice, a fruit cup, or a yogurt parfait.

Adult Buttermilk Fried Chicken

The chicken strips are fried just like the adult version, so it’s a very similar meal. Pro tip: we’ve asked for southern gravy to go with the chicken (the gravy comes with the adult meal), and we got it on the side of the kids’ meal at no charge.

’50s Prime Time Café at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

’50s Prime Time Café in Hollywood Studios is super fun for kids for a number of reasons: The servers are sassy and funny, there are TVs by some of the tables playing old shows, and the theming and decor are absolutely amazing.

’50s Prime Time Cafe

But another reason for kids to love this spot is the great kids menu you’ll find here. Kids (or you) can get grilled chicken or chicken strips, but one of the best deals is the kids’ salmon, known as Goofy’s Salmon. The meal comes with two sides from this list: green beans and carrots, corn, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, fruit salad, stained glass dessert (whipped pineapple fluff with gelatin cubes), or a seasonal cupcake.

Fried Chicken Adult Entree

Don’t you love that a cupcake is a side option? Lots of the kids’ meal side options include some kind of dessert, which we think is important.

50s Prime Time Cafe Servers

You can get the whole meal (plus a drink) for $13.

Skipper Canteen at the Magic Kingdom

OK — the kids menu at Skipper Canteen in the Magic Kingdom might be the best one we’ve seen yet.

Skipper Canteen

This spot has a few different options for kids meals, including Congo Connie’s Coconut-Curry Concoction, Sizzling Savanna Grilled Steak, Junior Skip’s Macaroni & Cheese, and Chef Tandaji’s Crispy Chicken. All of those sound amazing.

Curried Vegetable Crew Stew

The kids meals are between $10 and $13, and they come with a drink and two sides from this list: Steamed Broccoli, Seasonal Vegetables, Fingerling Potatoes, Jade Rice Blend, Seasonal Fruit, Monkey Banana Bites, or Volcano! Cake.

Skipper Canteen

Tell us where else you can get a curry or steak meal for under $15 in Disney World. We’ll wait. Really, though, this is a great option for both kids or adults who don’t want a full adult-sized entrée.
