There’s one area where Magic Kingdom has the other Disney World parks significantly BEAT.
The stats don’t lie — Magic Kingdom has WAY more attractions, and specifically rides, than the other parks! But which one is the best? It has been a debate since the park opened in 1971, and we’ve decided to FINALLY settle it…with the help of our readers, of course.
We’re starting a new bracket with our followers on Instagram which will be posted every few days on our stories. (Make sure to follow us @disneyfoodblog!) In this bracket, we’re having the ultimate throwdown of Magic Kingdom attractions, and we’ve already got the results of round one! Let’s see who’s in the lead so far!
We’re starting this list out with a complete blowout — The Barnstormer vs. Under the Sea — Journey of the Little Mermaid. Ariel took the lead SIGNIFICANTLY here with 78% of the votes!
Another one that wasn’t even close? Monorail vs. Ferryboat! The poor ferry only got 16% of the votes — we have to be honest though, there is something incredibly classic about that monorail ride through the Contemporary Resort and into Magic Kingdom.
Heading down Main Street, U.S.A., we pitted two Disney classics against each other — the Main Street Vehicles and the Walat Disney World Railroad. The railroad swept this one away with 90% of the vote, despite being closed (due to TRON construction) for over three years now! Impressive.
This next one was a little more evenly matched. Mickey’s PhilharMagic won out over Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor. (Our guess is that people are bitter because they didn’t get picked to be “that guy!”)
Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room or Country Bear Jamboree? That was the next decision our followers had to make, and they choose singing birds over singing bears.
Our next stop is in Tomorrowland, with some results we were definitely expecting. The Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover has a cult following of dedicated fans, whereas the Tomorrowland Speedway…well, it has fumes.
Two of the comfiest places to sit down went up against each other next — Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress and the Hall of Presidents. Carousel of Progress came out on top with 83% of votes, and we can’t blame our followers, the song is just so darn catchy!
Another Tomorrowland battle was up next, and this was an easy win for our favorite Space Ranger! Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin completely DEMOLISHED Astro Orbiter with 89% of the votes.
In the most overwhelming victory of ALL of round one, Haunted Mansion went up against Liberty Square Riverboat. Poor Riverboat, it just didn’t even have a chance with that measly 6% of votes. (It’s probably the horn, it should get a quieter horn.)
Next up we have a throwdown between two of Magic Kingdom’s mountains, which means we’re knocking out some heavy hitters really early in the game! Space Mountain barely edged out Splash Mountain, taking the victory with 52% of votes.
In results that were a tad bit shocking, Pirates of the Caribbean beat Jungle Cruise with a whopping 76% of the votes! We had a feeling Pirates would win, but we didn’t expect it to be this big of a landslide. Justice for the Skippers!
We pitted Splash and Space against each other, so it was only fair to do the same to Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Big Thunder won this one by a bit more than Space did, taking home 57% of votes.
And the Prince Charming Regal Carrousel lives to fight another day! It beat the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse with 69% of votes.
Peter Pan’s Flight took on The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh and came out on top in this dark ride battle. We suppose that explains why the Peter Pan’s Flight line always seems to be so long!
It turns out that people prefer singing puppets over becoming a human centrifuge, because “it’s a small world” defeated Mad Tea Party, which only got 30% in this poll.
And last but not least, we put the two spinner rides up against each other. Even though Magic Carpets of Aladdin has two rows of seats and a great view of Adventureland, our readers prefer the classic Dumbo the Flying Elephant. It scored 71% in this throwdown!
Those are all the results for round one! We’ll be posting round two soon, so make sure to follow along with us on Instagram for the next group of polls. We can’t wait to see who comes out on top!
