You Might Reconsider Buying Genie+ After Seeing These Wait Times in Disney World

As many Disney World fans know, there is a LOT more to do in the parks than just go on rides!

The Wildest Ride in the Wilderness!

You can shop for merch, eat delicious food, watch fun shows, go on exciting scavenger hunts, and meet some of your favorite characters. But, let’s face it — the rides are a BIG deal in the parks, which is why you see those high wait times! With summer here, that usually means big crowds, so let’s check out how bad the wait times were this past week in Disney World.

Magic Kingdom

Let’s head to Magic Kingdom! This week, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train had the longest average wait time with 76 minutes!

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train is an Individual Lightning Lane Attraction

After that, we had Jungle Cruise at 67 minutes, Peter Pan’s Flight at 61 minutes, Splash Mountain at 54 minutes, Space Mountain at 52 minutes, Haunted Mansion at 43 minutes, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at 42 minutes,  Pirates of the Caribbean at 35 minutes, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin at 35 minutes, Astro Orbiter at 34 minutes, and Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh at 33 minutes.

Argh!

Next, we had Tomorrowland Speedway at 26 minutes“it’s a small world” at 23 minutes, Under the Sea – Journey of the Little Mermaid at 20 minutes, Magic Carpets of Aladdin at 18 minutes, Barnstormer featuring the Great Goofini at 17 minutes, Mickey’s PhilharMagic at 15 minutes, and Dumbo the Flying Elephant at 14 minutes.

Under the sea! Under the sea!

Then, we saw Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover at 13 minutes, Mad Tea Party at 12 minutesand Prince Charming Regal Carrousel at 11 minutes.

And rides that only had wait times in the single digits were Carousel of Progress at 6 minutes and Liberty Square Riverboat at 3 minutes. Rides with no waits were Country Bear Jamboree, Tom Sawyer Island, Hall of Presidents, Enchanted Tiki Room, and Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse.

Liberty Square Riverboat

Magic Kingdom is probably the park you would get the most value out of using Disney Genie+ because there are so many rides, meaning you have more opportunities to grab reservations for rides. Remember, Genie+ is $15 per day, per person and you can’t purchase it until midnight on the day of your park ticket.

EPCOT

Over in EPCOT, the ride with the longest average wait was Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure at 73 minutes.

Then, we had Frozen Ever After at 71 minutes, Test Track at 61 minutes, Soarin’ at 39 minutes, Mission: SPACE at 33 minutes, Spaceship Earth at 17 minutes, Journey into Imagination at 14 minutes, Turtle Talk with Crush at 13 minutes, Living with the Land at 12 minutes, The Seas with Nemo and Friends at 11 minutes, and Gran Fiesta Tour at 11 minutes.

Let’s go see Figment!

Most of the theater shows in EPCOT had zero waits this past week! These included: Awesome Planet, Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along, Disney and Pixar Short Film Festival, Impressions de France, and Reflections of China!

Impressions de France

Remember, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind IS open now in EPCOT, but it doesn’t have a wait time because it’s only using a virtual queue system. In order to get on the ride, you have to secure a boarding pass at either 7AM or 1PM that day. For 7AM, you have to have a Park Pass Reservation for EPCOT and for 1PM you have to be inside EPCOT. If you’re not able to secure a boarding pass (they book up in SECONDS!), you can also buy a Lightning Lane for the ride, but those don’t last very long, either!

Hollywood Studios

Moving on to Hollywood Studios, Rise of the Resistance had the highest average wait time this week at 110 minutes.

Star Tours

Tower of Terror is still showing very high wait times due to only half of the ride operating right now. If you want to make sure you can get on the ride without a super long wait, you can either rope drop the ride or try and grab a Lightning Lane reservation for it through Genie+!

Since it’s so hot right now, know that the animals at Animal Kingdom are usually the most active in the mornings and in the evenings. If you want a better chance at seeing a lot of animals moving around on Kilimanjaro Safaris, we recommend heading there as soon as the park opens up!
