Disney’s newest cruise ship, the Disney Wish, promises all kinds of unique experiences for its passengers. You can visit a lounge that’s straight out of the Star Wars galaxy, take a ride on the first-ever Disney attraction at sea, and have your hair cut at a salon inspired by Tangled! It’s great to know what kinds of places you can visit on the ship, but what about the CHARACTERS you can meet?
Well, we set sail on the Disney Wish, and met up with several characters! Come along with us and see who you might run into during your upcoming voyage.
Just like in the Disney parks, guests on Disney cruise ships will get to meet characters during their trip! Here’s a complete list of the Disney friends we met while on the Disney Wish.
Captain Minnie and Mickey
We’re very glad the Wish didn’t set sail without her captain! Captain Minnie can be found on the ship, wearing her very official captain’s uniform.
Of course, she was also joined by Captain Mickey.
Yo Ho! We found the adorable duo wearing special costumes for Pirate Night.
More of the Fab 5
Other members of the Fab 5 weren’t left out of the fun. We spotted Goofy, Pluto, Donald, Daisy, Chip, and Dale!
They all helped us celebrate officially setting sail.
Fairy Godmother
The atrium of the Disney Wish is themed after a royal hall, and a statue of Cinderella is standing at the foot of the staircase. Above the hall, on a Juliet balcony, you just might see Cinderella’s Fairy Godmother!
On the final night of each sailing, guests participate in a ceremony with the Fairy Godmother, where they will raise their wands and watch a “spectacular farewell show” with tons of Disney characters, special effects, and performances.
Disney Princesses
Several princesses and even a couple of queens can be found at Fairytale Hall, which is a kids’ club on board.
At this spot, you’ll find Rapunzel (who’s helping with arts and crafts), Belle (who might read you a story), and Anna and Elsa (who are practicing ice powers).
In addition, we saw several Disney princesses and princes greeting guests as they boarded the ship…
…and taking part in the setting sail party on board.
Belle, Rapunzel, and Flynn were all on the balcony of the Wish’s atrium, and Moana, Cinderella, Prince Charming, Tiana, and Naveen all joined in at the party.
Frozen Characters
One of the new restaurants on board is Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure. This theatrical dining experience is inspired by the movie Frozen, so guests can see Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, and Olaf.
In fact, guests who are dining here are encouraged to join the characters by singing along to the Frozen songs.
Marvel Heroes
Another new restaurant is the Worlds of Marvel dining experience, which, of course, is themed after Marvel stories. The main characters you’ll find here are Ant-Man and The Wasp, but they could be joined by more Marvel characters.
More Marvel heroes can be found at the Marvel Superhero Academy, where kids (ages 3 to 12) can hang out with Avengers like Black Panther…
…and Spider-Man!
The heroes can help kids design their own super suit and train for battle.
Star Wars Characters
At the Star Wars Galactic Creature Keepers kids’ club, Chewbacca and Rey help everyone learn about creatures from a galaxy far, far away.
More Character Meet-and-Greets
Additionally, you can spot characters meeting guests at various themed locations around the ship and even at Castaway Cay. For example, we met up with Goofy on the beach!
To find out where certain characters will be at specific times, you can always ask a Cast Member on the ship. The character schedules change frequently, so it’s best to double-check if you’re really hoping to meet a specific Disney friend.
We’ll continue to bring you all kinds of insider looks at Disney’s newest cruise ship, the Disney Wish, so stay tuned with DFB!
