Can you even BELIEVE that we’re over halfway through 2022?! We can’t!

So much has already happened this year in Disney World, like entertainment and character meet and greets returning, hotels reopening, and a brand new ride opening up. And while we’ve had a lot of fun already, we’re also excited about what’s to come — Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, and the debut of the new MagicBand+! But, if you’re going to Disney World soon, you probably want to gauge how much time you’ll spend waiting in line for rides, right? Let’s take a look at last week’s wait times to see how things are going!

This snapshot of the wait times for the past week, right in the middle of July, can really help give you an idea of what to expect if you travel to Disney World during the busy summer months. Let’s take a look at those numbers.

Magic Kingdom

Let’s head to Magic Kingdom! This week, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train had the longest average wait time with 82 minutes!

After that, we had Peter Pan’s Flight at 68 minutes, Splash Mountain at 68 minutes, Jungle Cruise at 64 minutes, Space Mountain at 55 minutes, Haunted Mansion at 44 minutes, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin at 42 minutes, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at 41 minutes,  Astro Orbiter at 35 minutes, Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh at 35 minutes, and Pirates of the Caribbean at 35 minutes.

Next, we had Under the Sea – Journey of the Little Mermaid at 27 minutes, “it’s a small world” at 26 minutes, Tomorrowland Speedway at 23 minutes, Magic Carpets of Aladdin at 20 minutes, Barnstormer featuring the Great Goofini at 18 minutes, and Dumbo the Flying Elephant at 17 minutes.

Then, we saw Mickey’s PhilharMagic at 14 minutes, Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover at 14 minutes, Mad Tea Party at 12 minutes, and Prince Charming Regal Carrousel at 12 minutes.

And rides that only had wait times in the single digits were Liberty Square Riverboat at 5 minutes and Carousel of Progress at 4 minutes. Rides with no waits were Country Bear Jamboree, Tom Sawyer Island, Hall of Presidents, Enchanted Tiki Room, and Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse.

If you’re going to Magic Kingdom soon, you’ll probably want to familiarize yourself with Disney Genie+ so you can decide whether or not it’s worth it to purchase. It will give you access to make reservations for the Lightning Lanes of rides (AKA the lanes you can use to skip the normal line!). EPCOT

Over in EPCOT, the ride with the longest average wait was Frozen Ever After at 66 minutes.

Then, we had Test Track at 63 minutes, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure at 61 minutes, Soarin’ at 36 minutes, Mission: SPACE at 32 minutes, Turtle Talk with Crush at 19 minutes, Journey into Imagination at 13 minutes, Spaceship Earth at 12 minutes, Gran Fiesta Tour at 10 minutes, Living with the Land at 9 minutes, and The Seas with Nemo and Friends at 8 minutes.

The theater shows in EPCOT had zero waits this past week (on average)! These included: Awesome Planet, Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along, Disney and Pixar Short Film Festival, Impressions de France, and Reflections of China!

EPCOT just kicked off its Food and Wine Festival! It goes on ALL the way until November 19th this year, so you have an ample amount of time to check it out. And, when you do, we’re here to help! Hollywood Studios

Moving on to Hollywood Studios, Rise of the Resistance had the highest average wait time this week at 110 minutes.

After that, we had Slinky Dog Dash at 86 minutes, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run at 73 minutes, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster featuring Aerosmith at 66 minutes, Toy Story Mania at 65 minutes, Tower of Terror at 60 minutes, and Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway at 54 minutes.

And finally, we had Alien Swirling Saucers at 34 minutes, Star Tours – The Adventures Continue at 18 minutes, Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy at 15 minutes, Muppet*Vision 3D at 10 minutes, and Walt Disney Presents at 9 minutes.

If you’re staying at a Disney World hotel or another Good Neighbor hotel that has access to Early Theme Park Entry, and are planning on using it for Hollywood Studios, you need to strategize! You can head straight to Rise of the Resistance, but that’s probably where most people are going, so it will probably be crowded. A lot of people will also go to Tower of Terror and Slinky Dog Dash. Depending on the crowd levels, you could potentially get Tower of Terror and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster done by the time the park opens! Just make sure you have a plan going into those extra hours.

Animal Kingdom

Hopping over to Animal Kingdom, the ride with the longest average wait time this week was Avatar Flight of Passage at 102 minutes.

Then, we had Na’vi River Journey at 56 minutes, Kali River Rapids at 45 minutes, Kilimanjaro Safaris at 39 minutes, DINOSAUR at 31 minutes, and Expedition Everest at 26 minutes.

Following behind was It’s Tough to Be a Bug at 10 minutes, Triceratop Spin at 7 minutes, The Boneyard at 0 minutes, and Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail at 0 minutes.

Remember that during these summer months, Animal Kingdom can be VERY hot and the animals typically aren’t as active in the high temperatures. If you want to see them out and about, your best bet is to get there as early as possible when it’s a little bit cooler out! Trust us, waking up and getting to the park by 8AM is totally worth it to see those animals out during the safari!
