The question we get the most during the summer is, “how do you handle the heat?” and we do our best to answer that question. I figured I would break it down to each park and the best ways to beat the heat there. First up on the list is Magic Kingdom. This park has a lot of indoor options, so there is a lot of air conditioning.
This suggestion is very basic, but Starbucks or Joffrey’s, whichever you prefer, is a must. Head over to grab an iced coffee, a refresher, or iced water. These cold drinks will help you stay cool and are refreshing. If Starbucks isn’t your thing, go to the nearest quick-service dining location and grab a free cup of water. Stay hydrated!
Take a break! Magic Kingdom has a plethora of stores that are filled with air conditioning. The stores I love going into are the Emporium, Uptown Jewelers, Big Top Souvenirs, and Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe.
If you don’t like strolling through stores, well, you are in luck because there are 13 indoor attractions at the Magic Kingdom. The attractions best for resting your feet and soaking up air conditions are the Carousel of Progress, Enchanted Tiki Room, Country Bear Jamboree, and Hall of Presidents.
Splash Mountain is a great way to cool off if you are willing to ride a water ride. I am sure Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will be great for that, too, when it opens in late 2024. Not only are there several drops throughout the attraction that sprinkle you with water, but there are many indoor scenes. This ride always has the air conditioning on full blast. The big drop at the end is where you get splashed with the most water, and the ending scene always feels so cold after that.
Riding this attraction in the summer feels refreshing. I do not recommend riding this attraction when it’s 32 degrees outside, I did it once, and it was the one time I actually got soaked on this ride. I had to buy a brand new outfit that night.
Now let’s list what you need to bring in your bag to stay cool no matter the park you visit.
I hope everyone is enjoying their summer, and make sure you stay hydrated!
