Guests can now sign up to add an “In Memoriam” style photo of themselves to their own Halloween Horror Nights Tribute Store mausoleum plaque at Universal Studios Florida!

Tribute Store Mausoleum Plaque — $129

The upcoming Halloween Horror Nights Tribute Store at Universal Studios Florida is planning a mausoleum-themed hallway where those “laid to rest” will be guests themselves! For $129, you pick your name and send in a photo of yourself to be featured on a plaque in the hallway. The guest will select their own “birth year” and “death year;” however, both dates must be prior to 1954 since the use of mausoleums was primarily before that date. We love the commitment to theming!

There will be three different types of plaques with various epitaph phrases that will be selected for each guest.

Once the Halloween Tribute Store closes, guests have the choice of picking up their plaque in person at Universal Studios or paying to have it shipped to them directly. These plaques can be ordered at Five & Dime, the Tribute Store, or All Hallows Eve Boutique.

Yesterday we spotted this new Haunted Mansion themed Tommy Bahama button-up shirt in Disneyland, and today we found it at Memento Mori in the Magic Kingdom!

Haunted Mansion Button-up by Tommy Bahama – $150

The latest addition to the Tommy Bahama x Disney Parks collection is inspired by the Haunted Mansion. The shirt is off-white with black and gray sketch-style artwork.

The pattern features imagery from the attraction interspersed between the foliage. The iconic Haunted Mansion gate and doorplate can be seen, as well as the Tightrope Walker, Hitchhiking Ghosts, and plenty of headstones.

Madame Leota and some bats also make an appearance.

The same pattern repeats on the back of the shirt.

Between the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party coming up soon, and the continued 50th Anniversary Celebrations — now is an excellent time to plan a visit to Disney World!

But, things are constantly changing around the parks and beyond and it’s important to stay in the know when it comes to current construction projects happening in Disney World. Luckily, we’ve rounded up the biggest Disney World construction updates from this week so you’re prepared on your next visit!

Magic Kingdom

TRON: Lightcycle Run

Construction continues on the Walt Disney World Railroad train tunnel being built over at TRON: Lightcycle Run. More concrete walls are being installed on either side of what will eventually be the railroad tracks.

You can check out the train tunnel and wall from the other side in the photo below. It also looks like crews are working on building more concrete structures, but we’re not totally sure what those will end up being!

EPCOT

Mitsukoshi

The pick-a-pearl area at Mitsukoshi in the Japan pavilion has been closed of for a bit now, and it’s completely blocked off by black tarps. 

The pick-a-pearl station is still closed.

Disney hasn’t shared any plans for this area or what might be happening behind the scenes, but we’ll keep an eye out for more updates.

Land Pavilion

Don’t get stuck in the Land Pavilion in EPCOT! The escalator is closed, so for now you’ll have to use the elevator or stairs.

You’ll have to take the elevator or stairs!

Luckily, there’s plenty to do in the Land Pavilion should you find yourself in there — check out Soarin’ Around the World or Living with the Land!

Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana

The (rather large) Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana attraction is coming together piece by piece — literally. Crews have been working on installing all of the rock formations that will be home to the “immersive water-based attraction.”

Slowly but surely, things are starting to take shape. We can’t wait for this attraction to open — so be sure to stay tuned for even more updates!

Disney Resorts

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

There’s almost no trace of what once was the Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show building at the Polynesian Resort. We’ve been watching crews demolish the structure and smooth all that dirt over for a few weeks. Disney is preparing to start construction on the Polynesian Village expansion which will include new rooms, restaurants, and merchandise locations too!

Not only that, but guests can celebrate the holiday season at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and the EPCOT Festival of the Holidays too!

A very special Disney tour is finally returning!

It’s back!

Disney offers many types of VIP tours throughout their parks. Some of them returned in late 2021 and others returned earlier this year. And now, another popular tour is finally returning — The Walt Disney Studios Official Tour!

D23 has just announced that their wildly popular Walt Disney Studios Official Tour is finally returning from August 11th,2022 through November 5th, 2022 for D23 Gold and General members.

The tour will cost $99 on weekdays and $109 on weekends for Gold members and $149 on weekdays and $159 on weekends for General members. Tickets will go on sale on August 2nd at 10AM PST (1PM EST).

The tour lasts 2.5 hours and guests will be able to see sights such as Walt Disney’s office suite, Legends Plaza, and the Walt Disney Archives. On weekends, a Disney Archivist will join the tour to offer additional commentary.

All guests will be required to wear masks during the tour and must show proof of full vaccination, have a negative PCR test within 48 hours of the tour, or have a negative rapid test (no at-home tests allowed) within 24 hours of the tour.

Thanks to various treats, merchandise, and Disney+ shows, we’ve seen some underappreciated (in our humble opinion) characters get some well-deserved attention. And now, thanks to Harveys, we’re about to get an entire collection that’s inspired by one of the goofiest characters ever. Yes — GOOFY!

On August 5th at 8AM PDT, you can find this collection online on the Harveys website! All items are limited to one per family or household. For in-store pickup, choose the “curbside pickup” option at checkout. And if you choose in-store pickup, you’ll want to head over to their Santa Ana shop on August 6th from 8AM-10AM PDT, as they’ll be hosting a party during those hours. You’ll be able to take a photo, grab coffee, and meet the Harveys.
