*NEW* Apple Crumble Tart – $4.75
Unfortunately, this felt like all the flavors did not come together. The apples were a bit undercooked and were too firm to enjoy, and the cinnamon flavor was overwhelming here. The crust was fine, however. Overall, this menu option was okay, but not something we’d get again.
Frozen Apple Pie – $4.50
This was one of our favorite non-alcoholic drinks of the day. There’s a great apple pie filling on top of the slush that’s quite tasty and refreshing. The only issue we had with this is that a straw wasn’t provided. Granted, Disney is trying to move away from single-use plastics, but the drink is already being served in one so what’s one straw going to hurt? We obtained spoons and were able to enjoy this offering properly, it’s utterly just too difficult to enjoy without a straw or spoon. But it remains one of our favorite choices at the Festival.
Cinnamon Apple Cider (Non-Alcoholic) – $3.75
This tastes almost exactly like apple juice. If you like your cider sweet, this is okay, but this is too much for our personal tastes. It doesn’t really taste much cinnamon, but it’s possible that our taste buds were already overwhelmed by the cinnamon in the tart.
*NEW* Bold Rock Imperial Apple Hard Cider, Nellysford, VA (8.2% ABV) – $5.00 for 6 oz., $9.00 for 12 oz.
From Bold Rock: “Bold Rock Imperial Cider takes Crushed & Crafted in the Blue Ridge to new heights with 8.2% alcohol and a rich apple-forward taste to compliment a smooth and drinkable finish.”
Original Sin Hard Cider McIntosh, New York, NY (6.0% ABV) – $5.00 for 6 oz., $9.00 for 12 oz.
Original Sin Hard Cider describes the McIntosh as “an Unfiltered Cider made with freshly pressed New York McIntosh apples. This cider is rich and complex, reflecting the balanced sweetness and acidity of this historic apple.”
Blake’s Hard Cider Co. Saint Chéri Bourbon Barrel Aged Cherry, Armada, MI (6.9% ABV) – $5.00 for 6 oz., $9.00 for 12 oz.
Blake’s Hard Cider Co. describes this cider: “Crafted with Michigan grown Montmorency cherries, this bourbon barrel-aged semi-sweet provides slight tartness up front and a smooth finish.”
Big Storm Brewing Co. Apple Blonde Ale, Clearwater, FL (5.0% ABV) – $5.00 for 6 oz., $9.00 for 12 oz.
From correspondence with Big Storm Brewing Co.: “Made with cinnamon, allspice and real apple, our Apple Blonde Ale has sweet hints of biscuit and caramel and tastes like fresh apple.” It also boasts an apple and cinnamon aroma on the nose.
3 Daughters Brewing Apple Pecan Brown Ale, St. Petersburg, FL (5.5% ABV) – $5.00 for 6 oz., $9.00 for 12 oz.
From correspondence with 3 Daughters Brewing, Apple Pecan Brown Ale features “nutty pecan flavors, lightly tart apples and sweet caramel malts swirl together perfectly in a medium-bodied brown ale, complemented by notes of honey and a clean, roasty finish.”
Apple Blossom Sky: Apple Cider, Ginger Ale, Apple Brandy, Maple Syrup and Mini Marshmallows – $11.50
The Apple Blossom Sky returns this year with a tweaked recipe. This year, apple cider and ginger ale are replacing the Fanta Apple and ginger beer, and we can instantly taste the difference. The ginger ale adds a refreshing, ginger taste this drink was missing.
We still find the marshmallows to be pointless and we’d prefer the drink without them. However, for fans of sweet drinks, this is nice, especially on a hot day.
