You know us, DFB Friends — you know that we get genuinely excited about cheese (can you blame us?!).
So yes, we are THRILLED to be participating in this year’s Emile’s Fromage Montage, aka the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival Cheese Crawl!!! This year’s cheese crawl is a little bit different, so we’re giving you all the details you need to make your cheesiest dreams come true.
Okay, so here’s how it works. Be sure to pick up an EPCOT Festival of Food and Wine Passport (you can find these all over EPCOT and they’re FREE) and turn to page 40. You’ll find 10 cheese dishes listed — you need to eat five of these to win a prize (This is a little bit different than crawls in past years where you only had 5 items as options and you had to eat all of them). Each dish has a circle beside it — you get stickers for each of these dishes you try — collect five and you win!
For science, though, we decided to eat ALL the available dishes, because we want to make sure you can pick the ones you think you’ll like the best! Note that some of the dishes won’t be available until August 15th, when additional food booths open.
Crispy Barbecued Pork Rinds with Pimento Cheese — The Swanky Saucy Swine
This is a returning item over at The Swanky Saucy Swine! It’s your typical pork rinds, but they’re covered in a bunch of seasoning.
These pork rinds are pretty spicy, and so is the pimento cheese, so watch out for that kick! You can get this item for $4.75.

Smoked Corned Beef — Flavors From Fire
Next, we have another returning item over at Flavors From Fire. This Smoked Corned Beef comes with Crispy Potatoes, Cheese Curds, Pickled Onions, and Beer-Cheese Fondue for $5.50.
This is salty and creamy cheesy goodness! The pickled onions help pull it all together with some contrasting flavor, but the cheese is definitely the best part of this dish!

Crispy Paneer with Mango-Curry Ketchup — India
Now, we have a NEW item on the list! The Crispy Paneer is a fried Indian cheese and it comes with a side of mango-curry ketchup.
This was absolutely delicious! The breading reminded us of chicken nugget breading (in a good way) and the cheese paired with the ketchup is great. Get it for $5.

Schinkennudeln — Germany
This is a returning favorite and is a Pasta Gratin with Ham, Onions, and Cheese. It’s basically a fancy mac and cheese, so how can you go wrong?!
This was very tasty as usual, but we did think ours was a tad under-salted. We do LOVE those crispy cheesy edges, though! Get this one for $5.

Raclette — The Alps
Ah, the famous Raclette cheese from The Alps! This item is back but there are actually three different versions you can get, and all of them will count toward the cheese crawl. First up, there’s the Warm Raclette Swiss Cheese with Alpine Ham, Baby Potatoes, Cornichons, and Baguette for $5.50.
Next, you can get the Warm Raclette Swiss Cheese with Baby Potatoes, Cornichons, and a Baguette for $5.
And finally, we have the Warm Raclette Swiss Cheese with Riesling-poached Pears, Red Wine-braised Figs, Candied Pecans, Honey, and Cranberry Toast for $5.50.
We enjoyed ALL THREE of these dishes, so you really can’t go wrong here!

Griddled Cheese with Pistachios and Honey — Greece
Returning to the Greece booth is the Griddled Cheese! This has pistachios and honey on top and is basically exactly what it sounds like — cheese thrown on a griddle.
We really enjoy this one, and it’s a super unique flavor combo with the honey. You can get it for $4.75.

Pão de Queijo — Brazil
And, back at the Brazil booth is the famous Pão de Queijo! This is Brazilian cheese bread and it is SO tasty. It’s super cheesy and not like your average bread.
The texture is pretty gooey thanks to that cheese and it has a lovely salty cheese flavor. This is a winner for us! Get it for $4.75.

Canadian Cheddar and Bacon Soup — Canada
The Canadian Cheddar and Bacon Soup is also rather famous! This one is served with a pretzel roll on the side to soak up all that cheesy goodness.
What’s better than hot soup on a lovely 100 degree day in Florida? No but seriously, it might seem strange to eat soup right now with the temperatures, but this dish is THAT good that you just have to! Get it for $5.75.

You’ll notice that the Passion Fruit Cheesecake with Toasted Macadamia Nuts from Hawaii and the Mac & Cheese (any) from Mac & Eats won’t be available until August 15th. But we’ll try them when we can and let you know how they both are!
Once you have five stickers, turn your Festival Passport into Shimmering Sips for a “specialty prize unique to EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival.” Yes, you can eat cheese FOR A PRIZE. This year’s prize is a strawberry cheesecake soft serve with a piece of cheesecake on top served in a souvenir cup!
This is the same prize as last year, but it’s still delicious! It’s super creamy and has a big strawberry cheesecake flavor. Neither flavor tastes artificial. The piece of cheesecake on top is very creamy as well and adds some great texture and flavor. This is a sweet treat, but we didn’t think it was overly sweet. We would definitely eat a bunch of cheese to have this again!
If you pick the 5 least expensive items on the list right now, you’ll end up spending around $25 on this cheese crawl, so keep that in mind when you’re trying to figure out if it’s worth it or not. If you were already going to try a lot of these dishes anyway, it’s worth doing the crawl to get a little extra treat!
