Comcast has released their 2022 Q2 earnings, which include a 65% increase in revenue for Universal theme parks. The increase brought revenue to $1.8 billion.
According to Comcast, this growth is due to higher attendance and increased guest spending at both U.S.A. theme parks and Universal Studios Japan. Comcast CEO Brian Roberts said during the earnings call that domestic park attendance is now above pre-pandemic levels.
Universal Orlando Resort had their highest earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) on record for any quarter. The adjusted EBITDA for theme parks increased from $411 million to $632 million.
Roberts also said Comcast is “moving full steam ahead” on Epic Universe, which will “bring new experiences” to guests.
