What’s better than a Disney snack? An upgraded Disney snack, of course.

You know the saying, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it?” Yeah, we’ll need you to completely disregard that for a second. Dole Whips, Churros, Mickey Pretzels, and Cotton Candy are great snacks in their own right. But what if we told you there’s a way to make them better? Yes…better. We’ve carefully experimented with snacks around Disney World, and today, we’re bringing you the 5 DFB Snack Hacks for $5 or less!

Before starting with our list of snack hacks, we wanted to provide a disclaimer: the snack in its entirety will usually not be $5 or less — only the “hack” part of the snack will be. Alright, here comes our list of snack hacks…enjoy!

Chocolate Mickey Pretzel

YEP. You read that right. A Chocolate Mickey Pretzel. You’re probably already familiar with the cheese sauce you can dunk your pretzel into. But how about chocolate?! To get this snack hack, pick up your Mickey Pretzel from a Magic Kingdom Hub cart, and then buy a Chocolate Dipping Sauce for $1. (You can usually find the sauce at the popcorn cart which also sells churros.)

Dip your pretzel into the sauce, and there ya have it — a Chocolate Mickey Pretzel!

It’s a fun way to recreate a chocolate-covered pretzel, but perhaps it was even better, thanks to the warm, soft breading. 10/10 would recommend.

Coconut Dole Whip Churro Sundae

This tastes just as good as it sounds. To get this hack, you’ll want to head over to Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Café in Frontierland to grab the EARidescent Nugget Churros. They’re bite-sized Churros with a side of Chocolate Dipping Sauce. Once you have them, you’ll need to head over to Aloha Isle to grab a cup of Coconut Dole Whip for $4.99! See where this is going?

Place that Coconut Dole Whip on top of your Churros, and add the Chocolate Dipping Sauce for good measure! Eat it with a fork…or use the Churros as a spoon.

You’ll never eat Churros the “normal” way again!

Kyber Crystal Mocktail

Okay…this hack includes Blue Milk from Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. DON’T scroll away! Even if you’re not a fan of Blue Milk, we really recommend trying this hack out. Obviously, you’ll need to grab a cup of Blue Milk for this hack. And then, you’ll need to grab some Pink Cotton Candy (although any color works) for $4.99.

Place your Cotton Candy (which acts as your edible Kyber Crystal) on top of your Blue Milk…

…and watch it dissolve to create your Kyber Crystal Mocktail! 

It’s a really cool effect, and creates a pretty drink. It does add more sweetness to the drink, and the kiddos will love this experiment!

Grilled Cheeeeeese Donut With Bacon

This snack isn’t on the menu at Everglazed Donuts & Cold Brew at Disney Springs, so it’s a secret hack. (Shhhh!) You’ll want to order the Grilled Cheeeeeese (yes, that’s how you spell it), and then upgrade from the sweet bun to a Griddle Glazed Donut for $1. And then, for an extra dollar, you’ll want to throw some bacon in there.

And that’s how you get this Grilled Cheeeeeese Donut with Bacon! Crispy bacon, tons of cheese, and a sweet kick? Yeah, you’ll want to give this one a try.

Spicy Dole Whip

Head over to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort for this snack hack! This works with any Dole Whip flavor, so grab whatever one you want. We grabbed the Raspberry and Lemon Dole Whip, and then grabbed a FREE packet of Tajin (the spicy chile/lime seasoning).

We poured the entire packet of Tajin on top of the Dole Whip, and…YUM. It had a great kick of spice, which mixed well with the creamy, refreshing Dole Whip. Of course, if you aren’t a fan of spice, this hack won’t be for you. But we still recommend grabbing a regular Dole Whip while you’re over there — you won’t regret it!
