As of today, new changes are being made to the Park Reservation system. Let’s break down the changes so you can get to planning your next Disney vacation.

This new process is intended to enhance and streamline the booking process for all ticket tickets, with new rules taking effect on August 23, 2022. Walt Disney World will update the user interface for making Disney Park Pass reservations across all ticket types. This means that EVERYONE can book park passes together. For example, if you have an Annual Pass and your friend has a two-day ticket, you can make the reservation together in one step, rather than going through the passholder process first and hoping that when you make the reservation for the two-day ticket, the park you want is available.

In that single transaction, the upper limit of tickets that can have Disney Park Passes reserved in a single transaction will increase to 30, a significant increase from the current number of 12. This is great for large families and travel groups coming to Walt Disney World.

It’s important to note that they won’t be canceled if you’ve already made reservations for after August 23. Existing Disney Park Passes will migrate to the new reservation system without any actions by the guest.

One of the most significant changes to come to the system is that now you can modify your park reservations. For example, if your whole travel party has Animal Kingdom park reservations, but you really want to visit EPCOT to try a new food item, you can edit the reservation to remove yourself and change your reservation to EPCOT if there’s availability.

Another update is that Disney Park Passes will be tied to a specific ticket, not guest profiles in My Disney Experience. This means guests can have multiple types of tickets (for example, you have an Annual Pass and a Main Gate pass) and choose the ticket to which they want to assign the park reservation.

I have been hearing that this change is similar to the system they have out in Disneyland. Not sure if these changes will have a positive impact, but hopefully, this will make the planning process a little easier for everyone.
