More of the design elements from the 1994 reimagining of Tomorrowland, called “New Tomorrowland,” are disappearing to make way for the future. The last casualty is the giant gears that have now been removed from the façade of Tomorrowland Light & Power Co.

The large gears were attached in front of the large arched windows on the front of the shop. Compare the above image from today to the image below from a few weeks ago.

Though Tomorrowland Light & Power Co. didn’t open until 1995, it was designed to fit in with the “New Tomorrowland” aesthetic that took over the year prior. The similarly styled gear pavement was removed last year, as well as other thematic elements from around the PeopleMover track.

Work also continues on the side of the building where the towers were removed.

Crews are still adding water-resistant sheathing to the extended corner of the building. The concept art below shows what the building may look like when the project is complete.
