Halloween celebrations have begun in Disney World! Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, a separately ticketed event, lets guests step into the spookiest version of Magic Kingdom on 37 select nights between August 12th and October 31st.
Ticketholders can enter Magic Kingdom as early as 4PM but the party doesn’t officially kick off until 7PM, and it lasts until midnight. During the event, you can shop for exclusive merchandise, enjoy spooky drinks and snacks, check out the Halloween-themed parade and fireworks, and lots more. If you’re planning to do some shopping during the party, you may want to find out the BIG issue you could experience.
We took you with us on the first night of the party and we’ve also talked about why it’s a good idea to get to Magic Kingdom as early as you can — because we’ve seen CROWDS. If you have a Magic Kingdom park pass and valid admission, you can be inside Magic Kingdom as early as you want (after park opening), but if you only have a Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party ticket, you have to wait until 4PM to get inside the park.
Once you’re inside Magic Kingdom, you can walk around and hop on rides but you can’t do any of the party activities (like trick or treating) until the party begins at 7PM. Exclusive Not-So-Scary Halloween Party merchandise is available during the event, and when we attended a recent party night we noticed a HUGE crowd of people waiting for the party merchandise inside the Emporium in Magic Kingdom a bit before 7PM.
There were two different exclusive party merch sites inside the Emporium and as of 6:45PM, there was no sign of any of the merch yet — but there were LOTS of people and it was pretty chaotic. So many people, in fact, that Cast Members reminded the crowd to be safe and courteous and noted that they had plenty of merch for everyone.
Cast Members began setting up the merchandise around 6:50PM, and they announced that the party merch was limited to 2 of the same item per person. Some of the available exclusive merchandise included spirit jerseys, t-shirts, an ornament, a bowl, and more, and there were no exclusive pins or ears available during this party night.
If you want to avoid this shopping chaos but still want to take a Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party souvenir home, you could try visiting the Emporium at a different time during the party (remember, the party lasts from 7PM to 12AM), although it is possible that some items could sell out later in the evening. You could also stop by the Emporium during other party entertainment, like the Boo-To-You Parade or Mickey’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular fireworks show, when many people are busy outside of the store.
If you want to strategize your shopping time, you can note all the important Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party showtimes below:
