Here at DFB, we’ve tried our fair share of funnel cakes.

We’ve tried a funnel cake with WORMS in it (okay, not real worms, but you get the idea) at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in Disney World, a Piña Colada Funnel Cake at the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival, and even a Cookies and Cream Funnel Cake in Disneyland that would make your inner eight-year-old so happy. Now, we’re heading back to Disneyland to try another new funnel cake!

Right now, you can get a Honey Funnel Cake from Hungry Bear Restaurant in Critter Country.

This treat is a traditional funnel cake dipped in Honey Syrup and topped with Honey-Citrus Syrup, Honey Gelato, Bee Pollen, and Honey Cereal topping. It definitely sounds interesting, but how does it taste? Let’s find out!

To start out, we have to give a shout-out to our FAVORITE part of this treat — the honey gelato! It was super refreshing and had a nice, sweet honey taste. We also loved the honey citrus syrup, which gave a nice zest to balance out the other super sweet honey toppings.

While the toppings were great, we actually the funnel cake itself to be a little much for our taste. It was dipped in honey AND had honey drizzled all over it, which was too much overall sweetness for us. We would have preferred if they just went with the honey drizzle over a plain funnel cake to cut down on the intensity a bit.

If you’re not a fan of honey, this one definitely isn’t for you, since there’s a LOT of it all throughout this snack! But, on the other hand, if you’ve got a Winnie the Pooh level of love for honey, this funnel cake could be right up your alley!
