Yes, we’re still celebrating Halloween in Disney World, and that means we’re eating ALL the Halloween snacks we can get our hands on.
But did you know that we’ll soon be celebrating something else? From September 15th through October 15th, Disney World is also celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month, and that means a lot of NEW food is available! We’re trying one of those new snacks RIGHT NOW!
So we’re heading over to Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort to visit the Backstretch Pool Bar. There, we’re trying the Isa Jacaranda Cone, which is made with blue vanilla soft-serve with a hurricane of fondant flowers and glitter on a green cake cone.
Even though it’s blue, it’s clear the soft serve is vanilla. It’s refreshing and the cone is crunchy, however, the flowers were not what we were expecting. These flowers were not fondant, but hard candy that was very crunchy and fake tasting.
The treat is also covered in glitter, so kids and Encanto fans will love this treat, but if you don’t want your hands to be blue or covered in glitter, we suggest picking a different treat! But if you want this for yourself, you can try it out for $6.49.
That was the specialty treat we came to try, but there are also some new snacks here that you can grab on your pool day! Grab a meal and try the Buffalo Chicken Nachos for $10.49.
These nachos are made with chips and are covered in blue cheese, blue cheese queso, shredded buffalo chicken, and chopped celery. The buffalo chicken was very fresh and the celery was refreshing and added an extra crunch! We really enjoyed these, but if you’re not a fan of blue cheese or spice, this likely isn’t for you.
And there’s one more snack/meal to try, which is the New York Style Hot Dog! This is a traditional Disney hot dog with New York-style onions, which gave it a kick and made it spicy!
However, there’s also a sweetness there, making this hot dog much more adventurous than other Disney hot dogs. The bun was soft and fresh, and the hot dog was cooked well. The hot dog comes with a side of chips.
If you’re not an onion person, don’t like spice, or are looking for a traditional hot dog, we suggest choosing a different meal, but if you’re an onion fanatic (or enjoy sauerkraut on your hot dogs) and want to add some spice to your comfort food, give this a try! You can grab it for $9.49.
