What Disney refers to as an ambitious transformation for the Mickey’s Toontown area of Disneyland park, is in full swing, with new details emerging at the D23 Expo. The reimagined land will be focused on family fun for a younger audience and include the brand new attraction Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, previously only seen at Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios. The ride will fit in perfectly to the surrounding area with some slight adjustments, thanks to Disney Imagineers.
The new area will be an all-encompassing, interactive adventure for young ones as they learn through play. A splash zone will provide some cool relief for those needing a bit of waterplay, and the brand-new Goofy’s How-To-Play Yard will be an excellent place for kids to explore and discover.
These adventurous new play zones will come together with existing attractions such as Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin, Mickey’s House, and Minnie’s House. Other rides, like Gadget’s Go Coaster, will be reimagined to fit the new environment in a fun and exciting new way.
The all-new Mickey’s Toontown is expected to reopen in early 2023 at Disneyland Park.
