Don’t MISS These Disney World Construction Updates Before Your Next Visit

Don’t be surprised if you get a little lost on your next visit to Disney World.

EPCOT

We’re in the parks every day and are always noticing the little things here or there — and we also notice the big things! From attraction updates to new restaurants and hotel renovations, no two visits are alike. If you’re heading to the parks soon, we’ve got all the latest Disney World construction updates you need to see from this week!

Magic Kingdom

Center Street

It looks like the masonry work taking place just off of Main Street is almost done — Disney hasn’t shared an official end date for this project, but we’re hoping to see it completed soon. You can still walk down the sidewalk on either side of Center Street for now, though!

We’re keeping an eye on this area and will let you know of any major updates!

TRON: Lightcycle Run

More cement has been laid over at TRON: Lightcycle Run, and we’re starting to see a little bit more of what this area will finally look like once it’s actually complete.

TRON construction

And luckily, we do have an idea of when this attraction will open — Disney announced at the 2022 D23 Expo that we can expect to ride TRON in Spring 2023.

Journey of Water – Inspired by Moana

Things are looking a little chaotic over in EPCOT at the moment, where construction is continuing on the upcoming Moana-themed attraction. Right now, we can see scaffolding surrounding the large rock structures that will eventually become the walkthrough attraction.

Disney also shared an update about this attraction at the D23 Expo — we can expect it to open sometime in late 2023.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Dino Diner

We were sauntering through Animal Kingdom’s DinoLand U.S.A. the other day, when something seriously surprising caught our eye — Dino Diner was COMPLETELY GONE. Not only that, but there was also a fence up with those pesky Disney construction shrubs in front of its former parking spot as well.

Uh, it’s gone?

Disney hasn’t made any sort of announcement on what’s going on with Dino Diner or if it will return, but we did note that the Disney World website lists “No Times Available” for the foreseeable future. We’ll keep an eye out and let you know of any updates!

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Woody’s Roundup Rodeo BBQ

After not really seeing any sort of progress worthy of an update at Woody’s Roundup Rodeo BBQ coming to Toy Story Land in Hollywood Studios, we’re starting to see some actual signs of construction taking place!

This is a good sign!

More scaffolding has gone up, so hopefully we will get to see this restaurant open later this year as planned!

Disney Resorts

Polynesian Village Resort

And, don’t forget that Kona Cafe is closed for refurbishment at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort right now, so if your plans included dining at this spot on your trip, consider checking out ‘Ohana or even Trader Sam’s instead!
