FULL SCHEDULE for Disney World Parks Reopening After Hurricane Ian

On Tuesday, September 27th, Disney World announced that the theme parks would close due to the threat of Hurricane Ian. This closure was scheduled to last through Thursday, September 29th.

Now that the storm has passed by Central Florida and the weather is starting to clear up, Disney is getting ready to reopen the parks. They will do this with a phased reopening, which means that the park opening times are a little different than usual. Check out the full schedule for reopening here.

On Friday, September 30th, the Disney World theme parks will begin a phased reopening.

EPCOT

Here’s the schedule for when each park will open, with all times in EST:

Magic Kingdom:

  • Early Theme Park Entry (for visitors staying at Disney hotels): 8AM
  • All guests can enter: 10AM
  • Park Close: 6PM
  • Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party: 4PM guest entry; 7PM to 12AM party hours

Magic Kingdom

EPCOT:

  • Early Theme Park Entry (for visitors staying at Disney hotels): 9AM
  • All guests can enter: 11AM
  • Park close: 9PM

EPCOT

Disney’s Hollywood Studios:

  • Early Theme Park Entry (for visitors staying at Disney hotels): 10AM
  • All guests can enter: 12PM
  • Park close: 9PM

Hollywood Studios

Disney’s Animal Kingdom:

  • Early Theme Park Entry (for visitors staying at Disney hotels): 11AM
  • All guests can enter: 1PM
  • Park close: 7PM

Animal Kingdom!

Disney Springs:

  • Open 10AM to 11:30PM

Disney Springs

Fantasia Fairways Miniature Golf Course:

  • Open 3PM to 10PM

Scott Gustin reported this schedule, and the times have been slowly updating on Disney World’s website.

Note that guests will be able to check into their Disney hotel on Friday, beginning at 3PM. Some Disney World hotels will remain closed for all of Friday, including Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, Copper Creek Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, Treehouse Villas at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, and the Bungalows at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.

As usual, Park Pass Reservations are required to enter any theme park on Friday, September 30th. The Park Pass Reservation calendar has been updated to show available parks on Friday. Previously, it was showing that there were no passes available. Now, it looks like there are only available passes for EPCOT.

NEWS: Universal Orlando Announces Phased Reopening for Hotel Guests

This week Disney World, SeaWorld, and Universal Orlando had to close their theme parks due to Hurricane Ian. 

Universal Orlando

We have been tracking the hurricane to make sure that you have the most up-to-date information on the storm and how it might impact your trip to Disney World. Today, Disney World shared a phased reopening and SeaWorld shared that they would remain closed until Saturday, October 1. Now, we have an update from Universal Orlando. 

Universal Orlando will begin a phased reopening starting Friday, September 30th. This will include portions of Universal and will only be open to hotel guests.

Walt Disney World Park Pass Reservations for September 30 Open to Resort Hotel Guests

Park Pass reservations for Resort Hotel guests are now available for visiting some of the Walt Disney World theme parks as the post-Hurricane Ian phased reopening begins.

The Park Pass availability calendar shows reservations for EPCOT are available to Resort Hotel guests, although we were able to make reservations for any of the parks except Disney’s Animal Kingdom a short while ago.

Day ticket holders are also able to book EPCOT reservations for tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Annual Passholders of all levels appear to be blocked out from making any reservations on September 30 at present.

Walt Disney World Announces Theme Park Hours for September 30 Phased Reopening

Walt Disney World has announced park hours for all four theme parks as the post-Hurricane Ian phased reopening begins.

The Magic Kingdom will be open from 10:00a.m. to 6:00p.m., with Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party taking place as scheduled.

EPCOT will be open from 11:00a.m. to 9:00p.m.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be open from 12:00p.m. to 9:00p.m.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom will be open from 1:00p.m. to 7:00p.m.

Disney Springs will be open from 10:30a.m. to 11:00p.m.

Fantasia Fairways Mini-Golf will be open from 3:30p.m. to 10:00p.m.

Tokyo Disney Resort Reveals New Years 2023 Event & Merchandise

Tokyo Disney Resort has revealed its annual New Years event, which traditionally leans more into the Japanese cultural aspects. This year being the Year of the Rabbit, we’ll be seeing lots of Thumper and Miss Bunny around from January 1 through 16 of next year.

At Tokyo Disneyland, the New Year’s Greeting will return as always, with Mickey, Minnie, and the other Disney friends appearing on the generic float to greet guests in traditional Japanese garb.

And the same over at Tokyo DisneySea, appearing on the generic blue barge in their New Years kimono to greet guests around Mediterranean Harbor.

Kadomatsu and signage will flank the entrances to both parks, as is standard for the New Years events.

Guests can meet Mickey and Minnie in their special New Years costumes exclusively through purchase of a Vacation Package, likely starting at ¥55000 ($379) and up depending on availability.

Two special souvenir tickets will be available on the Disney Resort Line to commemorate the New Year.
