It’s a good day when we find a NEW Starbucks tumbler in Disney World and we spotted this Green Starbucks Tumbler at the Emporium in Magic Kingdom. We previously saw this tumbler in Disneyland and now it’s made its way to Disney World!

According to the U.K. government website, Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II approved a number of honorary British awards in 2022 before her passing. News of those awards has since been shared. Among the honorary award winners is none other than Bob Iger.
Iger was granted the honorary award of Honorary KBE (Honorary Knight Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire). According to a CNN article from a few years ago, the Honorary KBE title is equivalent to British knights like Sir Paul McCartney or Sir Elton John.
The Gazette points out that these titles are honorary and, unlike citizens of other countries that have the Queen as their head of state, American citizens with honorary British knighthoods cannot put “Sir” or “Dame” before their names. Other famous Americans who have received the KBE award include Bill and Melinda Gates, Bob Hope, and Steven Speilberg.
Iger was provided the KBE award in relation to his “services to the UK/US relations,” and his role was specifically cited as “Former Chairman & Chief Executive Officer” of the Disney Company.
Iger responded via Twitter, saying that it is one of the “great honors” of his life to receive the honorary Knight title. He shared, “I have great affection for the people of the UK & have always appreciated and been inspired by their extraordinary contributions.”

But Iger isn’t the only force with ties to Disney that was given the honorary Knight award. Legendary composer and conductor John Williams was also granted the Honorary KBE award for “services to film music.”
You’ll likely recognize John Williams from his work on soundtracks and music for popular films including the Star Wars saga, Jaws, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial,Indiana Jones, and MUCH more.
Iger commented on this by posting congratulations to John Williams via Twitter. He shared that it is an honor to join Williams as an Honorary Knight. Iger shared, “I have always been in awe of his work. May the force be with him!”

Now, Disney has notified all guests at the Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground asking them to “remove and stow all outside items” including Halloween decorations, tents, and camper awnings.
Here is the letter in its entirity:
Dear Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground Guest,
As you may be aware, we are anticipating potential inclement weather this week as a result of Tropical Storm Ian. The storm may bring high winds in this area beginning Wednesday, Sept. 28. as we continue to monitor the weather, we are asking that all Guests remove and stow all outside items, including tents and Halloween décor, and take in camper awnings. We ask for your assistance and cooperation in removing these items. The safety of our Guests and Cast is always our first priority and we will have Cast Members available to assist with these requests.
If you are camping in an tent and would like to discuss alternate options for your vacation, please contact the Front Desk.

Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground
This storm has the potential to be a major weather event. “Ian is expected to remain at or near major hurricane strength as it passes near the west-central coast of Florida on Wednesday and Thursday,” said NHC hurricane specialist Brad Reinhart. “An even greater concern is the slower forward motion that is forecast during this period, as the upper trough passes north and east of Ian and the steering currents weaken. This would likely prolong the storm surge, wind, and rainfall impacts along the affected portions of the west coast of Florida, although the roughly shore-parallel track still makes it difficult to pinpoint exactly what locations will experience the most severe impacts.”
“We tell people even if they’re lifelong Floridians like myself, this is something that we haven’t seen in our lifetime,” said meteorologist Rick Davis of the National Weather Service’s Tampa office.. “So we definitely need to take it seriously.”
If you find yourself in Magic Kingdom wanting to catch a glimpse of TRON construction, the PeopleMover is the ride to visit! You can typically see Cast Members, vehicles, ride testing, and more.

In case you’ve missed past updates, we’ll bring you up to speed. So far, the canopy for the ride seems to be mostly completed, and a lot of the current construction is on the ground.
The nearby Tomorrowland Light & Power Co. has also been closed for construction, with the side of the building mostly stripped back to cement.

If you are like me, for the last few weeks, you may have heard non-stop about Disney Dreamlight Valley and thinking… what? Well, I thought it was time that I did some digging and let some of you out of our curious darkness, and the short answer is it’s a video game.
I’m not into video games; not by choice, but as a result of my time-poor career as a working Mum of two. If there is any spare time in the day, I’m going to take a shower or enjoy using the restroom without my phone ringing non-stop, not start playing games. However, my younger self was quite fond of The Sims when trying to waste time in my final years of high school, so imagine my delight when I discover that it’s the perfect mix of a life-sim adventure game that meets the world of Disney characters and excitement.
I’m starting to rethink that shower.
Let’s start from the beginning. Disney Dreamlight Valley was released on September 6th for early access and will be available on platforms like Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Playstation 4 & 5, and others in early 2023. I can’t explain it better than the description I found below, so I’ll let you read that first.
Disney Dreamlight Valley is a hybrid between a life-sim and an adventure game rich with quests, exploration, and engaging activities featuring Disney and Pixar friends, both old and new.
Once an idyllic land, Dreamlight Valley was a place where Disney and Pixar characters lived in harmony—until the Forgetting. Night Thorns grew across the land and severed the wonderful memories tied to this magical place. With nowhere else to go, the hopeless inhabitants of Dreamlight Valley retreated behind locked doors in the Dream Castle.
Now it’s up to you to discover the stories of this world and bring the magic back to Dreamlight Valley!
Players will need to wait until next year for the free-to-play version, as right now, only a paid early access option is available for those who purchase a Founder’s Pack Edition on one of the six platforms currently available (Apple App Store coming soon) or if you have an Xbox Game Pass membership.
I went down the rabbit hole a bit on this one, watching clips on YouTube well into the wee hours of the morning. Before I knew it, I was learning how to unlock Donald and make a virtual in-game salad; I hadn’t even bought the game yet.
I can see this being something that I could easily waste way too much time on, though; it looks pretty fun, which is precisely the type of downtime many of us lack.
Who needs to use the restroom in peace anyway?
My adult self is saying, stop watching these clips and empty the dishwasher, but my 15-year-old inner self is saying buy it now and stay up till sunrise! Have you tried this game? Let me know what you think and if it is worth securing access to this version ahead of the 2023 full release.

Walt Disney World continues to celebrate its 50th Anniversary celebration with new merchandise from the Disney x VANS line. We found these must-have retro-style collections at the Main Street Cinema in the Magic Kingdom.
Fab Four Character Sticker T-shirt (Adult) – $36.99
This short-sleeved white t-shirt has recently been added to the Disney x VANS 50th Anniversary collection. On the front upper left chest are three silk-screened “stickers” of Goofy, Minnie Mouse, and Donald Duck. Towards the lower left side bottom, near the hem of the shirt, is a black square with the Disney x VANS logo.
A closer look at the front three silk-screened “stickers” shows each of the characters in a three-quarter profile. Goofy is on an olive green background with “Walt Disney World” in black arching over his head. Minnie Mouse is on a yellow background with “Walt Disney World” in red and Donald Duck is on a blue background with an arched “Walt Disney World” in yellow over his head.
On the back, covering nearly all of the upper half of the t-shirt is a large “sticker” of Mickey Mouse.

Fab Four Character “Sticker” Drawstring Backpack – $24.99
This colorful “sticker” backpack drawstring backpack is perfect for carrying snacks, souvenirs, or personal items while running around the parks or on errands long after your vacation is over. On either side of the bag are white nylon cords that are strung through the top of the sack and double knotted at the bottom.
A closer look at the nylon backpack shows rows of Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse alternating with rows of Donald Duck and Goofy. The backpack is made from a ripstop material for strength.
The backpack has one large main compartment and a wide opening mouth that makes it easy to load and unload.
The bag has reinforced bottom corners and silver metal grommets that make this bag sturdy.
Fab Four “Sticker” T-shirt (Child) – $29.99
This short-sleeve shirt is the child’s version of the “Sticker” t-shirt. This shirt comes in black and features the same three characters, Goofy, Minnie Mouse, and Donald Duck, on the upper left side of the chest and the Disney x VANS square logo tag on the lower left side.
The dark material provides a nice contrast to the vibrant colors on each of the character’s silkscreened “stickers.”
As with the adult version, a large Mickey Mouse can be found on the back of the t-shirt on a red background with “Walt Disney World” in yellow.
Mickey Mouse VANS Old Skool V Sneakers (Child) – $49.99
How cool are these sneakers?! According to the VANS website, the Old Skool shoe, which debuted in 1977, was “first known as the Vans #36.” The original shoe had a “unique new addition: a random doodle drawn by founder Paul Van Doren. Originally known as the “jazz stripe,” this stripe has become the unmistakable hallmark of the Vans brand. And now there is a version celebrating Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary.
The shoe features the best of VANS and Walt Disney World. The front, uppers, and heel feature the classic skateboarder checkerboard pattern in white and light blue.
The shoes are secured by two double hook-and-loop Velcro closures with Mickey Mouse head accents.
The rubber soles feature a textured front and classic Walt Disney World symbols from the original Walt Disney World logo.

Vintage Baseball Cap – $34.99
This dark blue classic baseball cap features a large patch with the vintage Mickey Mouse/Castle logo found on merchandise in the 70s.
The logo, trimmed in turquoise and alternating gold and white square features Mickey Mouse standing with his hands behind his back against the silhouette of Cinderella Castle in turquoise with the original “D” logo in gold and the Mickey globe head in the center.
The back of the hat has “Off The Wall” stitched in gold lettering and an adjustable plastic strap.
Character Drawstring Backpack – $24.99
This nylon backpack features all the classic Disney characters – a la the “Mickey Mouse Club.”
On a navy background, Daisy Duck and Minnie Mouse are holding a banner that reads “Magic Kingdom – Walt Disney World.” Mickey Mouse is dressed in his bandleader outfit while the other characters play various instruments. The backpack itself is made from a ripstop material for strength.
The black nylon drawstrings are double knotted on either side at the bottom.
Walt Disney World Opening Day T-shirt (adult) – $36.99
This dark blue “pre-opening” t-shirt features the classic “D” logo with the Mickey Mouse globe inside and “Walt Disney World,” “Opening Oct. 1971” underneath.
The back of the shirt has the logo that every opening day fan recognizes.
Mickey Mouse poses against the light blue image of Cinderella Castle with the Disney “D” and Mickey Globe ears off to one side. The image is surrounded with alternating dark blue and gold squares.
Mickey Mouse Club T-shirt (Child) – $29.99
With the same design as the drawstring backpack, this child’s t-shirt features Mickey Mouse and friends from the “Mickey Mouse Club.”
The shirt features Mickey Mouse as the “leader of the band” surrounded by Pluto, Donald Duck, José Carioca, Minnie Mouse, Huey, Goofy, Louis, Daisy Duck, and Dewey.

There is also an adult version of the “Mickey Mouse Club” t-shirt. This version, also in dark blue fabric, features “Walt Disney World” in white and “The Vacation Kingdom of the World” in yellow on the front of the shirt.
The back of the shirt has a large image of Mickey and friends surrounding the “Magic Kingdom” banner in the upper center of the shirt.
This sweatshirt has the Mickey Mouse/Cinderella Castle image on the front. It features a large front pocket with two slits, a banded waistband, drawstrings for the hood, and ribbed cuffs.
