If you’re headed to Disney World soon, you’ll want to pay attention to the weather forecast.
Dark clouds over Cinderella Castle
Tropical Storm Ian is headed to Florida and remains a potential hurricane threat for the state. Here are the latest updates on this storm.
According to ABC, the storm is expected to “strengthen over the weekend into a hurricane by Sunday night.” Tropical Storm Ian is then forecasted to strengthen into a major Category 4 hurricane by Tuesday afternoon.
Currently, the storm is expected to hit the west coast of Florida by midday Thursday. Governor Ron DeSantis has alreadyissued a state of emergency for the entire state of Florida.
As of the 5PM update on September 24th, the tropical storm has continued to move forward and is expected to strengthen throughout the weekend. Its trajectory has shifted west a bit, however.
Halloween Horror Nights 2022 has descended on Universal Studios Hollywood, and Hollywood and Dine has a unique corn dog and funnel cake for the occasion.
Korean Corn Dog – $8.99
Hot dog and mozzarella skewer dipped in a Korean corn dog batter, panko bread crumb and fried
This corn dog is the best Halloween Horror Nights offering in the park. In a sea of plain, underwhelming food that doesn’t try hard enough, this corn dog swings for the fences and hits a home run. Unlike the 22” Hot Dog we tried on the Lower Lot, this hot dog is just enough so as to not be overpowering in the overall dish. It makes way for the mozzarella cheese that the dog is wrapped in, then coated in Korean corn dog batter and panko crumbs before being deep fried to a perfect, crispy brown.
The cheese leaks out from beneath the batter in places and becomes fried as well, while the rest of it is trapped inside to stay melty with the hot dog. The Korean batter is hard to describe, with no particular flavors coming to the forefront to note. It’s spiced – not spicy, but there are plenty of spices in the mix to present a complex flavor that compliments the cheesy hot dog, creating an overall delicious offering that was gone from our plate far too quickly. This is one to get for yourself!
Candy Corn Funnel Cake – $9.99
Universal’s famous funnel cake topped with candy corn and whipped topping
This is exactly what you think it is: a funnel cake and a handful of candy corn served on a plate. That’s it. Not a candy corn-flavored funnel cake, not a funnel cake that looks like a candy corn, nothing that fun. It’s a funnel cake. And also there is candy corn.
It’s not that it’s a bad funnel cake or anything, but it just fits the norm for the Halloween Horror Nights foods that it’s just the lamest, most boring option one could think of for specialty foods for the event.

We’re always on the hunt for thelatest ways to save on tickets, flights, and hotel accommodations. And one of our favorite tricks is using the Hopper app — which can save you a lot of money. So, get ready to take some notes, as we’re about to share how to find the best deals on Hopper!
Hopper is an app for Apple and Android users that searches for the cheapest flights and hotels. The price prediction ability allows you to know when booking your flight or hotel will be the cheapest.
All you need to do is select your desired route (one-way or roundtrip) or hotel stay, and Hopper will show you a color-coded calendar. Green days are the cheapest, yellow and orange days are mid-range, and red days are the most expensive. The app also tells you the average price for each color. This allows you to plan your trip for when it’s cheapest.
Once you choose your dates from the calendar, Hopper will provide suggestions for your next steps. If the fare or stay is at its cheapest (per the price prediction tool), Hopper will recommend you book now.
If you want to book your trip, you’ll have a couple of options. To book now, you’ll press “View Flights” and the app will show you actual flights and prices to choose from.
If you want to look around some more, but don’t want to lose out on the low price, you can hold the fare or stay. By pressing “Price Freeze,” you’ll be able to pay a non-refundable deposit to hold the fare or stay for a specified period of time. The price of the deposit and the amount of time it’s held varies.
We recommend pressing “Watch This Trip” so that you’ll be notified when the fare or accommodation is at its cheapest! Make sure you actually enable notifications, or else you’ll only be notified when you open the app. You’ll want to book the trip as soon as it hits its cheapest, so you’ll need to ensure you receive notifications from Hopper even when you’re not in the app.
We suggest checking trip rates well ahead of your trip, and selecting multiple routes and trip dates to “watch.” Being flexible with the dates helps save money. When you’re not limited to the rate of a single route or stay, you have more options and prices to choose from!
Make air travel as stress-free as possible
You’ll also want to peek at the “Deals” button. It provides limited-time deals, which can save you a lot of money. Of course, this is best when you’re flexible on when and where you travel.
And you can also take advantage of their Carrot Cash! When you book with Hopper, you earn Carrot Cash — 1% back on flights, 3% back on hotels, and 2% back on car rentals. This can help you save money, but you’ll need to use the Carrot Cashwithin 6 months of your last booking.
So there ya have it — how to find the best deals on Hopper! Hopefully, these tips will help you save some more money on your next trip to Disney World or Disneyland! Through October 15th, you can head over to La Hacienda de San Angel at EPCOT to grab the Rosa Maria Margarita and Cochinita Pibil Tamal! The margarita is $18 and the tamal is $12.
The Limited-Time Items
The margarita is Centinela Blanco Tequila, violete cordial, black currant, orange liqueur, lime juice, and rose salt. How beautiful is this?! The margarita comes with its own smoke show, which was really fun.
Smoke Show!
The drink itself was tasty — surprisingly smooth, with a subtle kick. This is definitely a good option for those who are fans of tequila and floral notes!
Yum!
The tamal is Cochinita pibil in corn masa topped with pipián sauce, queso cotija, and crema Mexicana. The tamal was amaaaazing. The flavors paired well together, it was light on the spice, and the sauces tied the entire dish together. This is such a great way to celebrate the month! (Caution: this dish does come with peanuts, so stay away if you have an allergy.)
Tamal
Overall, these were great, tasty items! Go ahead and give them both a try (if you’re 21 years old or older, of course) before they’re gone.

Next time you drive into Walt Disney World Resort, your view may not be the same. The iconic Goofy DVC Van billboard has switched colors and designs, from a fun and bright red to a calm and elegant blue. We recently reported on this billboard being repainted, and it appears this refurbishment is complete!
This design still features Goofy driving the van, with Pluto hanging his head out the backseat, however the rest of the gang is not visible through the windows as they were through the old design. The light blue background is easy on the eyes and works well with the branding for DVC.
As we have been following this update, the theming and slogan have changed, refreshing this corner for years to come. What do you think of the new update? Do you prefer the simpler look or the classic?
