The entire state of Florida is now under a State of Emergency as Tropical Storm Ian approaches from the gulf of Florida. While the previous order issued by Governor Ron DeSantis only included 24 counties, the new order includes the entire state. While the previous order included Osceola County, which holds portions of Walt Disney World, the new order has a much larger effect. While there has been no statement yet on what Walt Disney World Resort will be doing for this storm, we are expecting a statement soon.
State and county partners met with Walt Disney World officials this morning to create a plan of action that will keep guests and Cast Members safe. Walt Disney World Resort is renowned for ensuring guest and Cast Member safety during hurricanes and other extreme weather. We have been keeping track of Tropical Storm Ian for days, and will continue to update you on any impacts to the resort.

The ICONIC Mickey Pretzel!
Fromseasonal items to new menu additions— you can constantly find us digging into something tasty. How else would we tell you what’s worth trying at Disney World?! So, for research, we re-reviewed a hearty menu item from Flame Tree Barbecue!
Over in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, you can find the Flame Tree Barbecue! This location has tons of seasonal items, filling entrees, and adult beverages. But today, we’re focusing on their Ribs and Chicken Combo for $15.69! Obviously, as the name suggests, it comes with Ribs and Chicken, served with Signature Baked Beans and Coleslaw.
Flame Tree Barbecue Menu
Let’s dig in! We’ll start off with the meats. The ribs are juicy and packed with flavor. They didn’t fall off the bone; however, the barbecue sauce saved the day.
So Much Meat!
The chicken by itself was a bit dry…but the flavor from the skin really helped make up for it. And, once again, the barbecue sauce helped overpower the dryness of the meat.
We LOVE Good Barbecue Sauce!
Onto the sides! The baked beans were really good. They were definitely on the sweeter side, so fans of sweet baked beans will enjoy this.
Yum!
The slaw was pretty standard — creamy, without a strong vinegar taste. We enjoyed it!
Slaw
Overall, this is a great option for those wanting a hearty meal in Animal Kingdom. It’s also a ton of food, so it can be shared. We definitely recommend giving it a try the next time you’re in the park! If you’re looking for another option in Animal Kingdom, check out the new menu changes that hit Nomad Lounge.Or take a look at the new breakfast option at EPCOT.
And, as always, stay tuned to DFB as we continue to review the food around Disney World!

While this takes away a merchandise location, all items are expected to be available in the Screen Door General Store nearby.
This update is one of many given the recent refurbishment of Disney’s Boardwalk Inn, and we are sure guests well be happy to have one more option for breakfast.
We have recently seen changes such as the renovation from BoardWalk Bakery to BoardWalk Deli, and the upcoming The Cake Bake Shop. How do you feel about this addition to the resort?
