Halloween Horror Nights is in full swing here at the Universal Orlando Resort, bringing tricks and treats to the parks and CityWalk. Many food booths are exclusively open during the event, but you can still find plenty of tempting treats available all day. The Toothsome Chocolate Emporium and Savory Feast Kitchen in CityWalk has a new Black Magic Milkshake for spooky season, so we had to stop by and give it a try.
Black Magic Milkshake – $16
Pumpkin dulce de leche ice cream, Nutella and sprinkle rim with severed body part filled cauldron over whipped topping flames
The witching hour approaches! We grabbed our shake and decided to give it a full photoshoot. To be honest, we kind of expected the shake to not look at glamorous at the photo, but it did not disappoint. It looked magnificent.
This was a fantastic presentation, even while visiting during peak shake hour. It was busy and our shake still came out looking beautiful. Let’s see if it’s as good as it looks.
The base flavor is very light, with more dulce de leche taste than pumpkin. Even if the pumpkin wasn’t strong, the shake was still rich and creamy.
To finish off this shake, you’ll find a dark chocolate cauldron perched atop a whipped cream fire. Inside the cauldron, a witch’s brew of whipped cream and gummy body parts awaits. The gummy body parts were absolutely delicious. A brain, eyeball, bone, and fingers filled the cauldron. These were fresh, chewy and tasted like fruit punch.
The cauldron was the absolute perfect topping. The chocolate was thick enough to maintain the contents, but delicate enough you could easily break it and bite into it to enjoy it.
Nutella and chocolate sprinkles were added to the rim of the souvenir cup and were actually easy to scoop off and eat.
Overall, we loved every part of this shake, except maybe the orange stains to our hands and face. But as long as you grab plenty of extra napkins, this shake is sure to put a spell on you, too.
