As Tropical Depression 9 (TD9) strengthens into Tropical Storm Ian, we expect to see changes at Walt Disney World Resort to address the impact and ensure safety for all guests. The tropical storm is expected to arrive late Tuesday night and is expected to cause storm force winds of 39 mph or above within a significant portion of the state.
It is important to notice that the area contained within the image is not the size or intensity of the storm, but its possible movement over the next several days. The storm is expected to strengthen into a hurricane as it moves towards landfall in the Florida Gulf.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis recently declared a state of emergency based on the unpredictability and possible severity of the storm.
We have not seen any updates to park hours or operations due to this, however we are expecting to see preparations beginning over the weekend as we saw with Tropical Storm Isaias in 2020. We will keep up to date with any changes coming to the parks based off of Tropical Storm Ian.
