Looking for a fun and magical experience that the entire family can enjoy? Head on over to Fantasyland to get pixie-dusted. I know many of you are probably like, “what does she mean” or “what is pixie-dusted?” You can only get pixie-dusted at Magic Kingdom, and the best part is that it is a free experience. 

Head over to Sir Mickey’s, a store behind Cinderella’s Castle. This shop is filled with different princess costumes, and they even have a PhotoPass studio in the back. You can also see the giant bean stock growing in and around the shop. 

The next step is to find a cast member and say, “hey can we get pixie-dusted?” And then they will grab their special wands filled with pixie dust. They will ask you to close your eyes and make a wish while they sprinkle pixie dust over your head to ensure all your dreams and wishes come true. 

Yes, you will be covered in glitter, sorry pixie dust, all day, but it’s a fun moment to capture and a memory that will last a lifetime. I love seeing little princesses go up and ask to be pixie-dusted because you can tell it means so much to them. Getting pixie-dusted isn’t limited to the princesses in the family; the entire family can join the fun.

I always do this when I take a solo trip to the Magic Kingdom because it just makes the trip even more magical. I’ve actually done this twice in the past month because sometimes you just need to add a little pixie dust to your day.
