According to an update from the National Hurricane Center on Sunday, there still remains uncertainty around the track and intensity of Tropical Storm Ian when it makes US landfall later this week.
Ian is slated to be a major hurricane when it passes over western Cuba and into the Gulf of Mexico, but from there the track and intensity of the storm isn’t as clear. The latest track has it making landfall along the panhandle of Florida early Friday morning as a hurricane. Florida remains in a State of Emergency as the state prepares for the storm.
State and county partners met with Walt Disney World officials yesterday morning to create a plan of action that will keep guests and Cast Members safe. Walt Disney World Resort is renowned for ensuring guest and Cast Member safety during hurricanes and other extreme weather. We have been keeping track of Tropical Storm Ian for days, and will continue to update you on any impacts to the resort.
