As you’re getting ready for your upcoming Disney World vacation, there are a few things you need to keep in mind!
Don’t forget that there have recently been quite a few price increases, so some snacks and merchandise might be more expensive than you remember. Some restaurants have recently gotten reopening dates as well, including Monsieur Paul (which has now officially reopened!) and Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in EPCOT. And one more thing you need to know — take a look here at everything that’s going to be CLOSED in Disney World this week.
We’ve got a full list of what’ll be temporarily closed at Disney World’s parks and hotels. But a quick note before we dive into the closures: If you’re going to visit Disney World soon, you’ll need the perfect t-shirt to wear into the parks! We’ve got a lot of great options at our online DFB store — Click here to check out our whole merch line.
Now that you’re ready with the perfect Disney shirts, check out our full list of what’s going to be CLOSED in Disney World this week.
Magic Kingdom
Walt Disney World Railroad
The Walt Disney World Railroad has been closed for YEARS, and Disney still hasn’t announced when this popular attraction will return.
We have seen construction crews re-installing the tracks that had been previously removed for construction work on TRON: Lightcycle Run (the new ride coming to Magic Kingdom’s Tomorrowland), so that’s a good sign! We’ve also heard some train testing periodically in the park.
It’s possible that the Railroad will remain closed until construction is finished on the TRON coaster, which is slated to open in the spring of 2023. But we’ll keep an eye out for any updates about this attraction’s return.
Tomorrowland Light & Power Co.
Guests exiting Space Mountain would previously walk through the Tomorrowland Light & Power Co. gift shop on their way out. However, they’re being directed to exit a different way now, because this gift shop is closed for refurbishments.
Disney hasn’t announced when the shop will reopen or what kinds of changes might take place during the refurbishment.
Enchanted Tales with Belle
Looking to meet the Disney princesses? Your best bet right now will be to visit Princess Fairytale Hall, because Enchanted Tales with Belle is still closed.
Sometimes you can still meet Belle at or near this location, but the full attraction (which previously included helping Belle tell the story of Beauty and the Beast) hasn’t returned yet. Disney hasn’t said when it might reopen.
Pete’s Silly Sideshow
We’ve been anxiously awaiting the return of Pete’s Silly Sideshow ever since Disney announced that this character meet-and-greet spot would reopen sometime “in the coming months.” (That announcement was made a few months ago.)
There’s still no word on when specifically the Sideshow will return. Previously, this spot hosted Donald, Goofy, Minnie, and Daisy in their circus performer outfits.
Meet Ariel at Her Grotto
The last spot that’s still temporarily closed in Magic Kingdom is Ariel’s Grotto, which is a meet-and-greet with the Little Mermaid herself.
Disney hasn’t announced when this spot will reopen, either.
Check out a new lunch option in Magic Kingdom.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Voyage of the Little Mermaid
Another Little Mermaid-themed attraction is closed in Disney World, this time in Hollywood Studios. The Voyage of the Little Mermaid stage show has been closed for a long time now.
Disney hasn’t said when or if this show will reopen.
Fantasmic!
We won’t have to wait too much longer before we can watch Fantasmic! in Hollywood Studios. It will return on November 3rd of this year, and we can’t wait to see it when it’s finally back!
The show will look a little bit different when it returns, with new characters, stunts, and effects. If you want to be there on its reopening night, get your Hollywood Studios park passes soon — they’ve already started to sell out for some guests!

EPCOT
Canada Far & Wide in CircleVision 360
The EPCOT Food & Wine Festival is to blame for this closure because the Appleseed Orchard festival booth has taken over the theater that normally shows the Canada Far & Wide film.S
Instead of a movie about the natural beauty of Canada, you can find an apple tart and some drinks here instead. We’re expecting Canada Far & Wide to return after this festival ends on November 19th.
American Adventure Pavilion
As you continue through EPCOT’s World Showcase, another show is closed as well. The American Adventure show is currently not running, and Disney hasn’t given any update about when it will return.
A Cast Member told us that the closure is for routine refurbishments on some of the animatronics, so hopefully this show won’t be closed for too much longer.
Cool Wash
This spot has been a snack kiosk serving refreshing drinks, a space that holds just tables and chairs, and — most recently — an empty area that’s closed off by shrubs.
Now, however, it looks like it might reopen with a new name! We recently saw the sign change from reading “Cool Wash” to “Refreshment Station.”
Although it’s still blocked off by the shrubs, we’ll be watching for this location to possibly reopen soon. Disney hasn’t yet made any announcements about its return.

Disney World Hotels
Kona Café — Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
At Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, Kona Café is temporarily closed. This spot will reopen soon, however, on November 1st, 2022.
You can make reservations now to visit this spot once it returns! But if you’re visiting while it’s still closed, you can still grab food from Kona Café by using the My Disney Experience app to Mobile Order breakfast, lunch, and dinner from Kona Café To-Go. You’ll pick up your food right next to Kona Island.
Narcoossee’s — Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort
Just a Monorail ride away from the Polynesian Village Resort is Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort, which also has a closed restaurant. Narcoossee’s (the upscale seafood restaurant) is currently closed.
This spot will reopen in 2023, but Disney hasn’t announced a specific return date for it yet.

Disney World Water Parks
Blizzard Beach
One of Disney World’s water parks — Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park — is still closed right now. But you can still visit Typhoon Lagoon (Disney World’s other water park).
If you want to know more about what’s going on inside Blizzard Beach right now, check out our recent post.
