A new baby springbok (a type of antelope) has arrived at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Dr. Mark Penning shared on Instagram.
Dr. Penning, VP of Disney’s Animals, Science & Environment, wrote:
Meet the newest member of the springbok herd at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge! Born near the end of September, this cute calf travelled to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park last week to spend some time with our animal care Cast Members like Dr. Jen (in blue) and hospital keeper Jen (in green), who offered careful attention and kept her fed every four hours. Even under special circumstances, our team didn’t skip a beat in providing excellent care.
Springbok are a hoofstock species of slender antelope that can be found in the central and western parts of southern Africa. You can spot springbok at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge and while riding Kilimanjaro Safaris at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
A baby red river hog was born at Disney’s Animal Kingdom a few months ago.
