We’ve said it before, but Disney World is constantly changing — and in more ways than one.
Hundreds of price increases just hit the parks, and even Genie+ has gone through yet another update. But today, we’re talking about some positive changes because it’s time to take another look at the biggest construction updates from around Disney World this week!
Magic Kingdom
Tomorrowland Light & Power Co.
If you’re looking for some futuristic space-themed merchandise, you’ll have to look elsewhere for now (try Star Traders!). Tomorrowland Light & Power is closed, and it looks like some pretty extensive work is being done to the outside of the building.
We’re not sure what the store looks like on the inside, but if it’s receiving the same updates as the outside — we can’t wait to check it out!
Walt Disney World Railroad
We got to see some major progress at the Walt Disney World Railroad recently — the tracks are being laid over at the TRON coaster!
Here you can get a better look at the tracks and the tunnel the train will eventually pass through!
Disney still hasn’t announced any opening timelines for the railroad, but TRON is slated to open in spring 2023 — so hopefully we won’t have to wait too much longer!
TRON: Lightcycle Run
More areas are starting to take shape over at TRON. We saw them working on the ground covering over on the right side of this construction area, but now it looks like work has started over to the left as well!
Here’s a better look at the ground covering over in front of the TRON canopy — we can’t wait to see what this looks like when it finally all comes together.
And luckily, we won’t have to wait too much longer because Disney announced that TRON is opening in spring 2023.

EPCOT
Journey of Water – Inspired by Moana
The tarp has been removed (or maybe fell down?) from out in front of the main rock featuring Moana’s symbol over at Journey of Water.
We’ll keep you updated on the latest construction news at this attraction!

CommuniCore Hall & Plaza
And on the other side of the major construction zone at the center of EPCOT, we’ve got some new structures up at the CommuniCore Hall and Plaza areas!
This area will be home to a new festival center, demo kitchen, concert space, and more. We’ll keep an eye out for more updates at this spot!

Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Woody’s Roundup Rodeo BBQ
We’re seeing green over in Hollywood Studios! More specifically, we’re starting to see some sort of green wall covering — maybe drywall or a vapor barrier — installed at Woody’s Roundup Rodeo BBQ. Although we can’t see much behind the fence, we’re hopeful that construction is progressing and we’ll actually be able to eat here later this year!
