Today, Disney announced that on October 26, 2022, MagicBand+ will make its debut at the Disneyland Resort, but Magic Key holders will be able to get early access on October 19.
A valid Magic Key pass will be required to purchase a MagicBand+ ahead of its official launch. After that, guests will be able to set up their band and try it out.
In addition, a special MagicBand+ will be available for Magic Key holders to purchase, while supplies last. In addition to all the features already found on the MagicBand+, this designed band will include a unique light-up sequence.
Although guests at the Walt Disney World resort have been using the MagicBand technology since 2013 and MagicBand+ as of this past July, this will be the first time for visitors to the Disneyland Resort.
There will be more than 18 colors and designs available at launch, including five prints exclusive to Disneyland Resort.
With a tap of your band, you’ll be able to enter the Disneyland Resort theme parks (valid park admission and reservation required), easily check in at Lightning Lane entrances (separate Lightning Lane entry required), and link photos from a Disney PhotoPass photographer to your Disney account.
As with the MagicBand+ launch at Walt Disney World, it is recommended to fully charge the MagicBand+ before use. Additionally, Disney states that MagicBand and MagicBand 2 will not be supported at Disneyland Resort.
