We are so excited to be back at Gatorland, as it’s been quite a while since our last visit! Join us for the park’s post-hurricane Grand Reopening for some Halloween festivities!
HALLOWEEN AT GATORLAND
One of our first stops as we entered the park, was the Monster Museum! Here we were led by a Monster Hunter, who was our guide through all things monster-related. We learned about some of the history behind the most famous monsters such as Dracula, The Wolfman, The Mummy, and even Frankenstein’s Monster! Our tour really gave a lot of details about these creatures and their backstories, which was really fascinating. After your guided tour, the second half of the walkthrough transitions into a Haunted House attraction! We ended up skipping this part, since we had Jackson with us and it was not suitable for children.
After finishing our tour, we went out on a quest to track down the Gatorland Skunk Ape! The Skunk Ape is a Florida Cryptid that resides in Gatorland and has become a mascot of the park since the pandemic! We finally were able to track down the elusive creature, and it was kind enough to give us some candy for our efforts!
ANIMAL ENCOUNTERS
After enjoying a little bit of Halloween fun, we really wanted to check out what Gatorland is truly known for, it’s Gators and animals! There are several different animal experiences at the park, we were able to do two! The first one was truly a unique Florida experience, which was getting to hold a baby Alligator named JJ! He was so tiny, and was only about a month old when we met him! On the opposite end of the spectrum, we were able to follow that with meeting a 107-year-old Aldabra Tortoise! It was $10 total to meet the tortoise and feed it a few pieces of lettuce! If getting up close and personal with these animals are not your thing, there are plenty of ways to enjoy the animals from afar at this park.
We truly had a great time back at Gatorland! The Halloween activities were truly a blast, and it was so great getting to meet and learn about some incredible animals! Thanks for joining us and we’ll see you next week!
