Wilderness Lodge has some great dining locations like Geyser Point, Artist Point and Whispering Canyon. Today we are at Roaring Fork, a quick-service location at this resort. They just got a handful of new items added to their menu. Everyone grab your forks and lets dig in to the new dishes!
First up, we have the Asian-Style Noodle Salad with tofu, mixed vegetables, crispy rice noodles, and fried wontons. You can also add chicken or shrimp for some added protein. This dish was $11.29, if you don’t like tofu, you can pick chicken or shrimp instead. This is what I got and it wasn’t my favorite thing, but it was decent. The soy vinaigrette in this salad was very strong. I do have to say that the tofu was cooked perfectly.
Next we have the Heirloom Tomato Salad with pickled wild mushrooms, burrata cheese, red pepper pesto, and basil which offers another light option. This dish is priced at $12.99. If you don’t like mushrooms, this dish is not for you, but if love cheese, you need to get this.
Then we have the Country-style Baked Meatloaf that features buttery green peas, chunky mashed potatoes, and gravy for a classic meal. The meatloaf may seem small but it is mighty! This dish costs $14.99 which is a pretty decent price for this.
Last but not least, there’s The Barbecued Brisket and Burnt Ends with potato hash, fiery coleslaw, and cornbread which features some comfort BBQ fare packed with flavor. Now, this dish was filled to the brim with food. The only con is that the potatoes used in this dish are the small breakfast potatoes they use at breakfast. Beware the fiery coleslaw is actually fiery but it takes a second to hit. This meal is priced at $18.99 and it is a very filling dish.
Now let’s take a look at the desserts. We will keep this part short and sweet. There are four new desserts and we got three of them. All the desserts were made beautifully but the flavors didn’t match. There was one dessert that was better than the rest.
Humphrey Bee Hive – $7.99
This is one of those desserts that adorable, but the flavors just don’t add up. The bees are cute, though.
Bear Mousse Cake – $7.99
This bear mousse was a little traumatizing. The bear looked a little sad, and when you cut into it, the filling is pink/red. The poor bear looked like he had gone through some hardships. No one at out table was a fan of this raspberry mousse covered in chocolate.
Blueberry-Thyme Crumb Cake – $6.29
This dessert was a winner. Everyone at the table agreed that this would be ten times better served warm with some vanilla ice cream. The blend of the blueberry and thyme made for a great dessert that wasn’t too over powering.
