A seriously underrated Disney vacation tip is to take a full day to explore the Disney World hotels. This is one of our favorite things to do — especially because these hotels have so many great restaurants and snack spots.
Just like the theme parks, the hotels in Disney World are consistently changing. We spot new treats, merchandise, and construction projects all the time. So come along with us as we explore the hotels along Magic Kingdom’s Monorail line to find out what’s new.
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort Food Update
Gasparilla Island Grill
At Gasparilla Island Grill, we spotted a new treat that’s here for Hispanic and Latin American Heritage Month. The Pastel de Horchata is made with a vanilla sponge cake infused with cinnamon-scented rice milk topped with mango mousse and toasted meringue.
You can get it now through October 15th for $6.49.

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Construction Update
If you’ve always wanted to walk between Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort, you’re in luck! A new walkway opened between the two hotels.
Now you can more easily access the restaurants and amenities at both hotels.

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Merchandise Update
Boutiki
At this gift shop, we found a couple of pre-packaged treats. First, there was the Honolulu Cookie Company Fall Collection, which you can get for $25. This collection comes with a selection of shortbread cookies.
You can also get the Pumpkin Shortbread Mini Bites, also by the Honolulu Cookie Company, for $10.
We saw some new Muppets shorts, which feature Animal. You can get them for $36.99.
We saw that the popular Polynesian Village Resort mug, which looks like a coconut, is back in stock!
You can get this mug for $19.99, but you’ll want to hurry — we’ve seen it sell out quickly at this spot before.
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort Merchandise Update
Curiouser Clothiers
At Curiouser Clothiers, we found a very elegant-looking teapot and teacup set. The teapot nests inside the teacup when you’re not using them so that it looks like one big dish.
It has a blue and gold color scheme with the Grand Floridian Resort’s logo on the side. You can get this set for $54.99.
We also spotted a new Vinyard Vines quarter-zip pullover with the Grand Floridian logo here.
You can get it for $135.
Basin
At Basin, you can find all kinds of fun soaps and bath bombs. We spotted a Trick-or-Treat Bath Bomb, which is shaped like a jack-o-lantern. You can get it for $9.99.
There’s also a collection of Nightmare Before Christmas-themed bath bombs here. You can get a set of 4 for $29.99.
The set comes with bath bombs that have decals of Jack Skellington, Sally, Zero the ghost dog, and Oogie Boogie.
Disney’s Contemporary Resort Merchandise Update
Bay View Gifts
Our last stop is Bay View Gifts at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. At this gift shop, we found a couple of Cinderella-themed pieces. The floor-length dress is royal blue with scenes from the movie along the bottom part of the skirt.
You can get this dress for $167.
There’s also a pullover sweatshirt with a similar design along the bottom. You can grab the sweatshirt for $59.99.
And last but not least, we found a new Spirit Jersey here! It’s made of a fuzzy pink fabric that was very soft, with polka dots all over.
As great as this Spirit Jersey is, we’d still have a hard time paying $99 for it — that price is quite a bit more than we usually see on these jerseys.
