It’s that time — the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays has kicked off in Disney World!
We’re here bringing you live updates from the festival on food (of course), entertainment, activities, and tips to use when you visit the festival. It’s been a blast so far trying some new and returning food items and now it’s time to check out a returning booth — Holiday Hearth!
Menu
When looking at the menu, you’ll see the Holiday Hearth is all about one thing — the desserts! There are so many sweet treats to choose from and this is one of the spots where you can stop for the Cookie Stroll.
Enough talk, it’s time to dive in!
Eats
First up is the Red Velvet Mini Bundt Cake with cream cheese icing! This treat is returning to the festival, but we had to give it another taste this year and make sure it was still the same treat we know and love. You can grab it for $4.75. The cake was moist and light, and it had that classic red velvet taste. The cream cheese icing wasn’t too sweet, and it paired really nicely with the cake. A really great dessert, and it’s cute to boot!
It wouldn’t be a trip to EPCOT without seeing Spaceship Earth. And at the Festival of the Holidays, you can get the returning Salted Caramel Spaceship Earth Cookie for $5! This cookie made our best of the fest list in 2021. It’s just as delicious this year! We love the salted caramel flavors mixed with the buttery cookie.
At this booth, you’ll also find Snowball Cookies. These debuted with the booth in 2020 and although they look super sweet, these cookies are not overly sweet at all! They come wrapped in a little container and are an easy snack to carry with you throughout the festival.
For a gluten and wheat friendly snack, grab the Peppermint Bark! This is a holiday classic and it is made of white chocolate coated in bits of peppermint. While the flavors are predictable here, it’s an iconic holiday sweet.
Speaking of snacks, the Mouse Crunch made with assortment of popcorn, chocolate pretzels, and M&M’s is perfect for when you have the munchies. The colors in the blend just scream “holidays!”
New to this booth this year, but returning to the festival is the Maple Bûche de Noël for $5. This treat is a maple mousse and cranberry rolled in gingerbread chiffon cake and we’re excited to try it at its new home! Previously, you could grab this at the Yukon Holiday Kitchen. It’s definitely an Insta-worthy dessert, and luckily it’s delicious too.
The maple mousse pairs so nicely with the cranberry sauce, and the gingerbread cake is nicely spiced without being overpowering. The chocolate “bark” on the outside wasn’t our favorite, though, we found it had an almost sour flavor — but it could have just been the one we had!
If you want to complete the Cookie Stroll at this year’s festival, listen up! At this booth you can grab the Gingerbread Cookie for $3, which is part of the Cookie Stroll! This is a classic gingerbread cookie that will hit the spot if you’re looking for a classic holiday treat.
Wow, there are a LOT of treats here! Let’s move onto the drinks.
Drinks
As with many other booths, you can grab Hot Chocolate & Cinnamon Apple Cider (which tastes like cinnamon-y apple juice)…
…and the Cocoa Candy Cane which is hot cocoa with peppermint schnapps! In the past, we’ve loved the balance of chocolate and peppermint in this drink and the marshmallows on top are a nice, creamy addition to the drink.
New to the booth this year is the Beer Flight. For $10, you’ll get to try 3 different beers! First up is the 3 Daughters Brewing Winter Spiced Lager. We liked this enough, but it just tasted like a regular lager to us. Next, we tried the BrewDog Hoppy Christmas IPA! This one was our favorite of the bunch, it was pretty light for an IPA but did have a mildly sweet taste.
And finally, the Wicked Weed Brewing Milk & Cookies Imperial Milk Stout is a part of this flight. We were excited about this one, but it was really heavy and too sweet for us. We didn’t get any of the cookies and milk flavors and instead just got a syrupy sweetness.
Overall
If you’re in the mood for dessert or have a major sweet tooth, be sure to stop by Holiday Hearth! This booth is dedicated to all things sweet, and there’s something for just about everyone here — whether you’re a fan of classics like gingerbread or are looking for something exciting like the Spaceship Earth cookie! Plus, this is a great stop for IPA fans too!
