Check Out Progress at TRON: Lightcycle Run and More Disney World Projects

When was the last time you visited Disney World?

Holidays in Magic Kingdom

Even if it was recently, there’s a good chance that things have already changed! New attractions are being built, new restaurants should be opening soon, and even the resorts are getting a makeover here and there. It can be hard to keep up, so let’s take a look at the biggest Disney World construction updates from this week!

Magic Kingdom

TRON: Lightcycle Run

We have TREES over at TRON Lightcycle Run! Several different trees have popped up around the outer edges and in some of those concrete-shaped areas. We can see that a railing has also been added on either side of the ramp under the canopy.

Trees!

Even more trees can be found over near the Walt Disney World Railroad tracks that pass underneath the new attraction.

More trees!

This is some seriously exciting progress — if only we could see what sort of updates were happening inside the ride building! TRON is slated to open up in spring 2023, so stay tuned for more news until then.

EPCOT

CommuniCore Hall and Plaza

We’ve got a different view of the construction over at CommuniCore Hall and Plaza — you can get a good idea of how large this building will really be!

CommuniCore Hall and Plaza

The area will be bringing EPCOT International Festivals “to the center of Walt Disney World,” according to Disney. CommuniCore Hall will be home to all sorts of festival happenings!

Journey of Water – Inspired by Moana

There’s a whole lot going on over at the new Moana-inspired attraction coming to EPCOT! Scaffolding is still up on some of the rocks, while greenery and detail work have been added to others. We can see large boxes at the bottom of the photo, but what exactly those are remains to be seen!

Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana will be opening in late 2023.

Woody’s Roundup Rodeo BBQ

The clock is ticking and the countdown is on — Woody’s Roundup Rodeo BBQ is supposed to be opening sometime this year, and we’re hopeful that we still might see that happen.

Polynesian Village Resort

It looks like we’re finally starting to see some progress over at the Polynesian. Disney has started construction on a new building that will be home to DVC rooms, dining options, and merchandise locations!

Crews seem to still be clearing the area and moving some barriers in to aid in construction.
