What started with one ship, the Disney Magic, in 1998 has grown into a fleet of five cruise ships… and counting. As Disney is gearing up to celebrate its 25th anniversary next year, the company is introducing some special ways to celebrate the milestone, including a new membership tier, Pearl, for Castaway Club members.
Disney states that guests who have sailed with Disney 25 times or more will now have the distinction of becoming a Pearl Castaway Club member. Currently, the available tiers for Castaway Club members are Silver, 1 to 4 sailings; Gold, 5 to 9 sailings; and Platinum, 10 or more sailings.
Many on social media applauded the new category. One Twitter user said that they think “it is needed” and hopefully, that kind of loyalty would come with “some extra perks.”
Disney Cruise Line also announced special summer sailings, starting in 2023, to celebrate their Silver Anniversary. These new celebration experiences will be available on select sailings from May through September of 2023. Sailings include cruises to the Bahamas, the Caribbean, Europe, and Alaska.
