Disney Went SPICY With Its New Healthy ‘Star Wars’ Snack

We have to admit that Disney has been pretty inventive in naming some of its snacks for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

We’ve had everything from Five-Blossom Bread to Cold Brew Black Caf to Endorian Fried Chicken Tip-Yip, and we’re constantly excited to see what kind of space snack Disney comes up with next. Now, we’re getting a NEW snack with a fun name: Spiced Wroshyr Pods.

Okay, here’s a little background. Wroshyr is not a made-up word (well, it is, but it DOES come from the Star Wars universe). It’s a kind of tree that can be found on the planet of Kashyyk (that’s the Wookiee planet).  On Earth, though, a Spiced Wroshyr Pod is actually Seasoned Edamame, Sliced Cucumbers, and Spicy Citrus-Gochujang Dip.

When we tried this snack, we thought the edamame was a little under cooked, but overall, it was pretty tasty. However, we will say that it was VERY spicy (note to those averse to spicy foods) and gets spicier as you eat it. The cucumbers absorb the seasonings, giving them a saltier flavor, but it works.

SPICY

The dip is also nice, with a slightly sour-meets-spicy flavor. We like! You can grab this out-of-this-world snack right now at Oga’s Cantina in Disneyland for $11.99.

While you’re at it, be sure to order up the Fuzzy Tauntaun to go with itthe drink is BACK on the menu (and yes, it still makes your mouth go numb). Don’t drink alcohol? No problem — there are quite a few good non-alcoholic options here, too!

Note that you’ll want to make an advance dining reservation for Oga’s as it does fill up quickly, so keep that in mind for your next trip to Disneyland!
