One of the best festivals at EPCOT has begun meaning it’s time to celebrate holiday traditions from all around the globe. There are many ways to enjoy the festival, from the storytellers to the Holiday Kitchens scattered throughout the park. In this article, we will focus on everything the festival offers.
Joyful! A Celebration of the Season
Experience the joy of Christmas and Kwanzaa with the uplifting Gospel, R&B and holiday songs of the JOYFUL! ensemble. Performances begin at 1:15 PM, 2:20 PM, 3:25 PM, and 4:30 PM daily at World Showcase Plaza.
This show is fun for the entire family; don’t be afraid to sing along.
Storytellers
Throughout the holidays, World Showcase comes alive with the legends and lore of the season
The storytellers have always been my favorite part of the holidays at EPCOT. I think these short shows help educate guests on what each country and culture does to celebrate. From stories to food, each country varies. My current favorite is the Hanukkah Storyteller.
Guests will discover an entertaining celebration of Hanukkah along World Showcase promenade, where a storyteller recounts traveling abroad to explore the diverse music and traditions of Hanukkah around the world.
I celebrate Hanukkah and Christmas since I have a blended family, but I have always resonated with and loved the story of Hanukkah. The story is filled with hope and reminds me that hope, love, and light are strong.
Seeing each performance will most definitely take most of the day. It’s essential to plan out this portion of the festival. On the My Disney Experience app, you can find all the show times so you can plan accordingly. The stories in France, Italy, Canada, and Norway are some of my favorites.
Olaf’s Holiday Tradition Expedition Scavenger Hunt
Go on a festive quest throughout World Showcase hunting for holiday traditions that Olaf has gathered––and lost––along the way! Simply purchase your map and stickers from select Festival merchandise locations—including Creations Shop, Port of Entry and World Traveler at International Gateway.
Holiday Cookie Stroll
Purchase 5 cookies from any of the official cookie stroll locations featured in your Festival Passport—and be sure to collect a matching stamp for each cookie purchased. Once you’ve collected 5 stamps, bring the stamped Passport to Holiday Sweets & Treats to receive a specialty treat!
This stroll is for all ages and great for guests who love sweets. I have never participated in it, but I’ve heard it’s a fun experience. Fun fact the cookie at L’Chaim! is plant-based!
Holiday Kitchens
Visiting the Holiday Kitchens is a must. Make sure you grab a festival passport. This passport is where you can read the menus from each booth around World Showcase. It’s a great thing to have when planning your day. This booklet is what you will need to complete the Holiday Cookie Stroll.
Meet Santa
Guests visiting EPCOT can meet Santa at the Odessey near Test Track.
EPCOT has one of the best holiday celebrations in Orlando. There is just so much to do during this festival. In my opinion, this is one of the best festivals that takes place at the park. I am curious to know which part of this event is your favorite; let us know in the comment section.
